Labour pain experience from endometriosis suffers

I know this is highly personal and subjective but I’m interested to know how women who suffer from endometriosis would compare period and labour pain? It’s partly to help make a decision about where to birth (midwife led or hospital) but also to help with my expectations. At its worst I’ve been unable to stand up/get out of bed during my period - am I naive to think labour will be on a similar scale?

Hey im currently 37 weeks and a FTM with grade 4 endometriosis as well as adenomyosis. Not sure of the answer to your question so im following out of curiosityGrin

i HAVE been told that early labour pains / contractions are similar to what we feel on a monthly basis anyway as it can be debilitating...or not for some. Having said that the majority of people do tend to say their labour started off with a case of bad period type of cramping' before ramping up to 2nd stage so i suppose if youre used to having a shitty monthly (like me but also have a high pain tolerance), it should be manageable for us tbh..ill see for myself very soon..Hmm

I have grade 3 endometriosis, and have had children. First couple of hours of labour were similar to endo pain. I have to say, late labour really is much worse than any endo pain I have experienced (I have not been able to move, had to crawl to loo to vomit etc).

I think this is a hard question for anyone to answer. It's such a woman by woman basis. Theres lots of variants to consider including a woman's pain threshold. Speak to your midwife and see what they suggest. Noone knows how anyone will cope in labour until it actually happens, and even then a second labour might be completely different. Good luck OP, I'm sure you'll make the best decision for you Flowers

Following as I also have endo and have had cramping throughout the pregnancy so far, I'm 24 weeks tomorrow x

@ClimbAHill came across this thread and wondering how your birth went?? And @Kirky658 ? I have stage 4 endo which I only discovered last year but have often had debilitating periods where I am writhing in pain for hours and vomit...am also curious as to whether this might help me cope 'better' with labour?? Or whether it's just completely incomparable? Xxx
