I am 37 + 4 today and yesterday I had a bit of a funny turn after I came out the shower yesterday morning (it wasn't too hot or anything).
I felt nauseated and felt like I was going to pass out. I had to lie down and wait for it to pass and it took ages. It eventually did and then I was able to go to my nieces communion as planned. On the drive on the way there the feeling came over me again and I actually had to pull over cos I thought I was going to pass out again.
I went straight home after the service and fell asleep for over two hours and had a sore head when I woke up. I can't walk from room to room without feeling like I need to lie down or that my legs are really heavy. My arms feel heavy too and like my head is too heavy for my neck.
It's not as bad today but I definitely still feel really "weak" and tired.
This is baby no. 3 for me. I stopped work at 33/34 weeks with my first two and I'm not due to finish this time until Thursday.
I'm also suffering with spd and physio has given me crutches to use.
I'm not sure whether to call and speak to a midwife about how I'm feeling - I'm really worried about wasting their time.
I'm making sure that I eat and drink regularly but it doesn't seem to be making a difference.
Sorry I didn't realise this would be so long.

Please do call your midwife. It is far better to be told not to worry by a medical professional than to miss something that might actually be something important. This sounds like it should be checked out to me ( non medical!)

Definitely call triage; it may be nothing but it never hurts to check

sarah13xx · 23/05/2021 14:41

Yes I would give them a phone, if you get a blood test done they can at least rule things out

BobinRobin · 23/05/2021 14:44

It's important to ring and go into triage now, xx

Taenia · 23/05/2021 15:19

A close friend of mine has been feeling the same and last week actually passed out at work - she's also 37 weeks. Hospital tests came back that she's anemic and ultra extremely low blood pressure so they are putting her iron tablets to try and help. So deffinatley worth phoning them. X

stuckinarutatwork · 23/05/2021 15:23

Yes absolutely get checked. It could be something like low iron or more serious like preeclampsia.
Whatever it is, anxiety will make it worse so for your own peace of mind, get them to give you a once over.

Vodkabulary · 23/05/2021 15:27

Please do call them. I had similar in my 3rd pregnancy and it turned out my
Blood pressure had plummeted very low. Midwife sent me to the hospital because although low BP is common in pregnancy a sudden drop when it’s previously been done can need checking out

ladymary86 · 23/05/2021 17:11

I called. The midwife I spoke to at triage wasn't concerned. They haven't asked me to go in or anything, just advised that I take it easy for the rest of the evening but get back in touch with them if I feel worse or it becomes debilitating.

Glad they’ve reassured you. Are you taking iron already? I used to have low iron (when I wasn’t pregnant) and I used to basically faint then come back round every time I got out the bath so the shower thing would make sense

ladymary86 · 23/05/2021 22:58

Yes I'm taking spatone rather than iron tablets.

@ladymary86 it’s maybe not that then 🙂 just take it easy for the next few weeks
