12 weeks, am I feeling uterus?

I remember from previous pregnancies (a long time ago!) being able to gradually feel my uterus as a hard kind of shelf above my pelvic bone that got higher as the baby grew. I'm currently approx 12 weeks and when I lie down with a full bladder I can feel a hard ball, but it's mid-abdomen, a couple of fingers below my belly button. Definitely above bladder.
Now I'm freaking out that something is in the wrong place, but also not actually sure that it is my uterus I'm feeling. Could it be something else? Is it because my bladder is full? I was expecting at 12 weeks to maybe feel something very low down, but certainly not where I currently feel it!

I hope I'm not just being a wally and it's some other part of anatomy that I should know is situated there. It's definitely a new thing though. Any insight much appreciated x

Sounds like the right place, can't say I ever lay down with a full bladder for a poke around as I wouldn't know what I was feeling for anyway. Definitely doesn't sound like anything else? Have you had a scan?

No scan yet, I'm booked in next week. That is pretty much the only definitive way to know if everything is as it should be so I should probably stop poking around and just chill!

It just feels so different to what I remember!
