Cramps at 4 weeks

Hello girls!

I recently discovered I am pregnant (after 3 months TTC). This week, I had a medical urgency episode because of very very strong camps (I was about to faint) for about 15 minutes. Everything was ok with the embryo, but my doctor prescribed progesterone vaginal pills daily for a while - I guess to help avoiding a miscarriage. I will se the ob-gyn again in 9 days. He said I can have some (Buscopan) in SOS if I have cramps.

But for the last days I have been feeling mild cramps many times a day. I am in my 4th week. It is a discomfort that I don't know if it is supposed to be happening or not. This is my first pregnancy and I am 29 years old.

Can you girls please share your experience with me?

At this point, after the scary episode this week, I am very nervous and I just want everything to be ok with me and my future baby - so I could really use a little bit of your experience!

I'm 8 weeks now and basically had all period symptoms including cramping until 6 weeks. Some intense but others mild and throughout the day every day. Even now I get a little twinge/minor cramp.

Extremely normal but I understand it's such a worrying time. I was quite pessimistic about everything until I had an early scan yesterday and saw a heartbeat.

If you're anxious I'd book a private scan for when you could see a heartbeat (8 weeks recommended but you could do as early as 6 weeks - I'd do from 6.5 just to be sure you'd get a heartbeat).

Congratulations!

Dear, thank you very much for your help. I am really getting upset by these cramps. It has been happening everyday for a week now. I do hope that, as yours, it stops at some point. I was wishing for a good time but so far I have been miserable most of the days - not because of the pain itself but because I am afraid something not expected happens to my baby at this early stage. But reading your message really made tons for me - thank you very very much for your attention ♥️

I had period type cramps on and off in my early stages, roughly weeks 5-8ish. I'm 28 weeks now and everything is good with the baby, I'm 29 too! Because you had the scare especially don't hesitate to call them if you're concerned though :)

I also had these cramps throughout week 4 and 5. They felt really similar to strong period cramps and I thought I was going to start my period at any moment. I was getting them about 4 times a day and each time they would last about 15 minutes.

I'm not 6.5 weeks and I only get them maybe once every other day. I asked similar questions on here about them and was assured that they were completely normal. I think most people find that they calm down at about 6/7 weeks. Hope this helps x

I have also had strong cramps in weeks 4 & 5. They were stronger than a normal period (although my periods are very mild) and they actually woke me up in the middle of the night.

It was very very good to me to be able to hear your experience with the cramps, girls!
Made me feel more optimistic.

Today when I was coming back from work I got some really bad ones, but managed to keep calm and stop at the supermarket to buy some
Frozen peas and use as a pad in my way home. Haha

I guess it all coupled with the anxiety is the worst, and if I can manage to handle anxiety itself, it is half way!

Thank you a million.

Hello girls.. an update.
I just lost my pregnancy. I am heartbroken in every possible way.
Had bleeding this morning and rushed to the Emergency but there was already nothing on my uterus. I just can't express my grief. Just letting this message here so girls future looking for similar symptoms, do not ignore it. 😔
