I'm 40+1 just had my first sweep and the midwife said my cervix is slightly posterior and that she thinks I'm about 1-2cm dilated at the moment, just looking for advice on what might help things move along and any stories of similar experiences, I'm so over being pregnant by now 😂 thanks in advance ladies!

Current things I'm trying are bouncing on an exercise ball and going for another walk shortly, anyone have any other tips that could help ? TIA

Ball and walking up and down stairs

Good luck, hope it’s not too long for you Smile

Thank you! I'll give the stairs a try for sure 😁

I'll be honest if you're up for it, sex!! I did after my sweep and it worked for me! Assuming you have a partner lol. I was also 1-2cm dilated at the time! Good luck! 😁

At this point I'm willing to give anything a go 😂 were also in the middle of moving so the sooner this baby pops the better 😂 thank you!

Face the wall as you're going up and down stairs - the sideways motion of your hips rocking is what will help.

Good luck!

I had a sweep at 40 weeks and went into labour at 40+2 with my little one arriving. Sex was the last thing we wanted to do due to losing some mucus plug from the sweep so I had a hot curry, bounced on the ball, relaxed and it just happened.

Keep calm and do something you love! You've got this Smile x

Chara6 · 21/05/2021 14:14

I'll be sure to do that thank you!

@Chara6 Oh my god you poor sod! I also had moved into a new house when my DD was born... never again 😂 I'm suprised the stress hasn't made you go into labour tbh lol!

MotherPiglet · 21/05/2021 14:15

Make loads of plans for the next couple of days. Babies like to come when its inconvenient!

Oh I so hope my little one is a similar case! I'm so ready to meet him! Thank you!

I had reflexology to avoid an induction and it worked. Some reflexologists offer a treatment that can help bring on labour. I was 39+2 baby was born next morning.

Tell me about it, it's been a struggle trying to book around the pregnancy 😅 for sure I will never be moving and awaiting labor so close together ever again I'm surprised i have any hair left 😂

@Chara6 I remember we had a new kitchen being finished off as well.. I was a total mess 😂 like others have said, baby will definitely come when you make a crucial plan haha! Aww good luck with it all though, hope it goes as smoothly as moving house and having a baby can do! 🙈 best of luck and hope that baby makes an appearance soon! X
