Hi.
Had anatomy scan when 21weeks eventually referred to Prof Nicolaids at Fetal Medicine in King's. He said baby severely aneamic and required blood transfusion so I had that Tuesday. Waiting to go back next Tuesday to check how baby doing . Prof said lucky we went when we did another day baby probably would have died due to how aneamic she was. Everything else in baby fine. They've ruled out antibodies being reason for this. Waiting on bloods to come back to see if me or baby had parvovirus/slapped cheek .
Anyone else have experience of this and positive stories ? Going a bit mad Waiting until Tuesday to know the next steps whether she needs more transfusions or I'll just carry on being monitored. Xx

Update from above baby kept getting aneamic so she had 4 blood transfusions through umbilical cord whilst pregnant. C section at 35 weeks .
Once she was about 3 weeks old she needed a blood transfusion again and has needed then every 3 to 4 weeks since . Her haemoglobin keeps dropping. But they've done all the tests and all coming back normal. Genetics normal, no rhesus disease etc .she's having blood tests weekly and I just pray one day they rise or stay the same but they always drop . .
Anyone else experience this ? Will it improve on its own ? She's almost 4 months old . Thanks

Apologies can't help, but just wanted to say congratulations on her birth, and I'm so sorry you had such a stressful pregnancy and that you are still having issues. I have never heard of blood transfusions via umbilical cord, truly amazing. Will hold her in my prayers .
