15 weeks with twins, can't stop worrying.

I am 15 weeks with twins and I can't get it out of my head that there is something wrong. That I'm going to lose one or both babies, and I don't know why. We had an ultrasound at 13 weeks and both babies had heartbeats and were wriggling around. I know that after the first trimester the chances of miscarriage and vanishing twin go down significantly. I'm not really sure what I'm expecting posting here, but if anyone could just offer a little bit of reassurance that would be great. Thanks.

I'm 15w and 4 days end I'm just as anxious as you are. I've had 5 scans . One of which was nhs and everything looks fine but like you the knowledge that miscarriage is higher with twins and at my age 42, I can't help worrying. I've not told anyone except my mum and husband. We're keeping it to ourselves until 20weeks.

Not very reassuring I know but at least you're not alone .

I remember being super worried when I was pregnant with my twins too. It felt like there were so many things that could happen and I didn’t tell any one apart from immediate family that I was having twins until after the 20 week scan as I was convinced that something would be wrong with one or both. I think the anxiety is almost a primordial response designed to make you stay safe in your cave and not be eaten while you are carrying precious cargo. Once I got to around 20/24 weeks the appointments and scans stared to really ramp up which was very reassuring. You don’t have long till that point!

Btw congratulations to you OP and you too Iboogy. Having twins doesn’t stop being overwhelming once they are born, but it is one of the best and most magical clubs to be in. Good luck. Star I hope you both have smooth pregnancies.

Your risks depend on the type of twins you're having. Try to enjoy the pregnancy and not let the worry consume you. Good luck

We have fraternal twin girls, it was worrying but I got them all the way to 38wk (pretty sure they would have stayed put if not evicted lol). It started out a worry because neither were planned, failed coil so complete shock being told 2 heartbeats at over 7wk and we had 3 older ones. I was scanned every 4 weeks and I could feel them from 11wk. Twin 1 had a low lying placenta which did move by 32wk, at my final app before eviction they found twin one had turned breech so I ended up with an elcs. I was absolutely huge and it was a painful last trimester, they were 8lb 5oz & 8lb 11oz at birth so well above average. They sailed through all their checks and thrived, they're 6 years old now. Having twins has been such a special experience and we adore them. Their pregnancy did break my body but they were worth it, I managed to repair the damage in the gym eventually.

I’m 19+3 and feel like I’ve constantly worried too. Luckily I feel them move most days but I’ve been worried my bump is really small. Especially when I went for an internal scan a week ago and some girls having their 20 scan week looked so much bigger than me and they only had 1 baby in there!
