Hi all, I’m new to this but here goes!

I’ve had 4 miscarriages now, starting back in 2018 where I didn’t know I was pregnant till I had the miscarriage, then 1 November 2020 and 3 in 2021 already! So as you can tell, I’m more then stressed about it!
I have been back and forth to the hospital to seen the consultant, tests and scans etc…. I had a phone call from the consultant on Monday to say that I actually have a desire called FAK-TUR 5 mutation, which is a blood clotting disorder, which is cause by trauma or surgery. But can also be hereditary. I have never heard of this before. He told me that when I get a positive pregnancy test, he will start me on a few things, aspirin, 5mg folic acid, progesterone injection do the whole pregnancy and to stop 6 weeks after the birth and also cyclogest pessaries. Has anyone else been put on all of these medications to help stop a miscarriage and if so, how did it go and was the pregnancy completed? I’m really scared about trying again but now we know why I feel a little better about it, but that thought is always going to be there. Thanks

@willithappen @PurplePansy05 that's a bit more reassuring then. But deffo not going the rectal route! I'm terrible for pooing as it is. Just hoping and praying that I soon get a positive test, I'm now obviously classed as high risk and my last midwife ( even tho I've only spoken to her over the phone) was brilliant with me. I was on the combined pill when the consultant rang saying I have this V Leiden, and told me to come straight off it. So just have to wait and see now 👍🏻

Hi op, when I was pregnant with my eldest I didn't know that the bleeding disorder she now has was either genetic when she was in my womb... she has actually got factor 11 deficiency where she doesn't clot. Apparently this conditions is mainly high in Orthodox Jews but I myself ain't Jewish and my OH(black/Jamaican) isn't as we have both been tested for this. I can't say for sure on who's side it comes from because I'm completely in a loop. My daughter is in tranazamic acid.
I'm not so sure about you factor v condition but I hope they sort it out for you c
