Congratulations!! I can imagine this is stressful for you. I'm currently bleeding heavy and 4 weeks pregnant hoping everything is fine like how it is for you but have no hopes xx Iv Hurd a lot of people have heavy bleeds try to relax ☺️ xx

Yup, had one in both pregnancies.
First one had bleeding and it was seen on a scan and it gave a reason for the bleeding.
Second pregnancy I had an early scan and they could see the haematoma but I never had any bleeding.

Try not to worry too much about the haematoma, I think they are quite common. I had one that made be bleed at 9, 11 and 16weeks but by 20weeks it had gone. The body tends to reabsorb the blood as it's basically just a bruise.

Hey! Congratulations on your pregnancy 💗
My friend is currently 20 weeks pregnant and has been bleeding since around 6 weeks pregnant due to a hematoma, her baby is absolutely fine and apart from the bleeding has had a smooth pregnancy so far. Xx

espressoontap · 19/05/2021 10:36

I had a subchorionic haemotoma with my DD, they saw it at 6 weeks. I had another scan at 9 weeks and it had gone. I had no bleeding thankfully.

I had one with my pregnancy before DD and sadly lost that baby.

Congratulations 💞

It’s easier said than done but I honestly wouldn’t worry 💗 My friend had her 20 week appointment on Tuesday and the midwife didn’t even check over her hematoma. They just asked her about the bleeding etc, if it was excessive and causing any pain. They wasn’t concerned at all. She does however book private scans, and they check over the hematoma for her, if you’re in the UK I know you shouldn’t have to pay additional as we have the NHS but if your concerned maybe it’s something you could look into?

Do you know where the hematoma is? My friends is below the baby, so they aren’t concerned due to the placement being underneath the baby xxx

She’s been bleeding since 6 weeks pregnant, it varies from what she has said. To much info sorry she said sometimes it’s like a big gush of blood and then that’s it for a day and other times it’s just like a slow period bleed, but she’s been bleeding since 6 weeks pregnant and she’s now 20+3 days pregnant with a healthy baby. Her midwife is showing no concerns what so ever xxx

Bettypea6 · 20/05/2021 16:58

Sounds the same as mine I have big bleeds then brown stuff it goes away for a few days then back again it’s just so scary glad ur friend is doing ok thank you for replying xx

Yeah I honestly don’t think it’s anything to worry about, as I said her pregnancy is going really smoothly and on track. It’s so hard not to worry but she was the exact same, she went to A&E when she started bleeding and they wouldn’t scan her, told her to keep an eye on the flow... They just checked babies heartbeat, it was only when she booked a private scan she was told about the hematoma. Her local hospital have been pretty useless in all honesty, so you aren’t alone. People say private scans aren’t very good etc for x, y & z reasons but I’ve been much more reassured from a private scan than I have from any nhs scans I’ve had xxx

I had a hematoma at 6wks, gush of watery red blood. Had brown blood everyday until just over 9 weeks when I passed a clot. Thankfully that was hematoma coming away and haven't bled since (🤞)

Midwife said they are so common they sometimes don't even mention them at a scan.

Sure all will be ok x

I had one with DC3. I bled a lot, particularly between 11-16 weeks. When it initially started I thought I had lost the baby as it was so heavy. They scanned me and he was happily floating about, waving at us. He's now sat next to me as a healthy, smiley 6 month old Smile

Bettypea6 · 22/05/2021 00:53

Aww I’m so glad you were ok I’m just so worried all I do is lie down scared to move scared to go to the toilet it’s horrendous xx
