37 weeks tummy ache

Morning...

Can anybody shed some light.

I was 37 weeks yesterday.

Last night in bed I woke up with a really bad tummy ache at the top of my bump - a constant pain rather than a dull ache. It lasted a good few hours before I could go back to bed.

Definitely wasn't contractions - no waves at all and not low down. It really hurt and I couldn't lie down with it at all.

This morning it's nowhere near as sore but I just have an uncomfortable feeling at the top of my bump.

I'm on iron tablets (just 1 a day) which has been affecting BM's but I did go a couple of times yesterday which hasn't been normal since starting the iron - not diarrhoea but would potentially have been had I not been on the iron (if that makes sense).

I've not eaten anything questionable, or different to my partner and I don't/didn't feel 'ill' as such, just rather uncomfortable really.

Thanks.x

Do you have a telephone number for your MW? A quick call could ease your mind or she may call you in for a quick.once over

Definitely contact your midwife, I developed pre-eclampsia at 37 weeks and that started with pain at the top of my bump. Hopefully it's just a bit of indigestion but best to get checked out.
