so im 15 weeks which I thought was too early to feel my first and ive just eaten so might just be digestion. however ive never felt anything like this like twitching feeling in my bump. it's like ive got the weirdest feeling in my stomach.
I'm so confused if this is baby or not.

Could be! Does it feel like bubbles popping / fluttering?
Could also be digestion / wind!

marshmallowmode · 16/05/2021 20:10

I felt first twitches (like bubbles popping) at 16 weeks and by the end of the week they were proper movements I could see from the outside and my husband could feel. It's my first baby too, I was also totally expecting to not feel anything until much later!

vixey · 16/05/2021 20:19

I'm trying not to get excited, because I've just eaten, but hoping it'll get more prominent by the end of the week. xxx

@marshmallowmode Thats lovely, you must have a posterior placenta maybe? That helps! Mine was posterior with first baby and we felt movement really strong really early.

I'm 15 weeks with baby 2 and I don't think I've felt anything definite yet.

marshmallowmode · 16/05/2021 20:52

@Toastedsesame yes posterior placenta! I suspect I won't be enjoying it so much later on when they're more than gentle pokes, he's already made me jump a few times with some of them 😂

lockdownbabyx · 16/05/2021 21:09

@vixey I'm glad you posted this as I've had the same! I'm 16 weeks today and a FTM but for the last week I've felt slight little movements(or what I think) I guess it could be wind haha. Only happens every now and then. I'm also a size 14/16 and carry most of my weight on my stomach so didn't think I'd feel anything for a while. Fingers crossed I get more movement over the next few weeks ☺️. X

PurpleFlower1983 · 16/05/2021 23:09

Mine felt like the twitch you sometimes get in your eye when tired in the pit of my stomach. I was 16 weeks.

vixey · 17/05/2021 00:08

@lockdownbabyx
you sound so much like me it's scary. I'm too worried about it to be excited lol. I kinda don't wanna be excited in case it's just wind. my mums said it could just be wind and see if it keeps happening when I havent just eaten. so we shall see what happens over the next few weeks. xxx

Hey @vixey 🖐
With my first I felt the first movements at 14 weeks, though I wasn't sure thats what they were until they were a bit more consistent a week or two later. Slim size 6-8, if that matters. PP's explanation about feeling like an eye twitch (but low down in tummy) is spot on! Best way i've seen it described. Best way i felt it at first was to lay down in the evening, and maybe apply a bit of gentle pressure low down over uterus, if they're awake you might feel a wiggle at some point!

I felt my first movements at 16 weeks despite having an anterior placenta :)

BertieBotts · 17/05/2021 09:33

I felt my first two babies from 13 weeks. Third I've felt more from 18 weeks. DC2 and 3 were /are placenta at the front. But I tend to carry them back to back which my midwife said is why I feel loads of movement because the arms and legs are towards the front.
