Ibuprofen panic - first trimester

Hello, I'm just short of 7 weeks pregnant and had a horrible migrane this morning. I took ibuprofen as I usually would, but it only occurred to me after that I should have checked, and now I'm in a bit of a panic as I see it's not a good idea to take it. Has anyone had any experience with this? Not sure how worried I should be.

I took two today (200mg dose), and I had two a week or so ago.

Many thanks xx

Ibuprofen can increase the risk of miscarriage early on but it doesn’t sound like you’ve had it regularly so I’m sure you will be fine. I think the greatest risks from birth defects come in the third trimester. Just don’t take anymore.

Thank you so much - this is my first pregnancy and everything is making me panic, which I know isn’t good!

Don't stress! A few ibuprofen will do no harm.

Most of these things are just guidelines and if there's a slight chance of something then it's put on the caution list, but honestly nothing to stress about doing once or twice. x

I have been getting headaches once a week for 18 weeks- the length of my pregnancy so far and I expect to continue getting them.
The only thing that helps me is electrolytes.
I drink a sport powder mix and within an hour the headache goes

Hi both, thank you so much for your reassurance, and electrolytes are a great idea, I’ll go and stock up! Xx
