@lottie198 hi congratulations.... and welcome to the thread.... I just got lucky I suppose. Plus I could see a winky when baby stretched his leg. And the sonographer asked if I had any other children and I told her 2 daughters. Her reply was they are gonna be happy. She said she can see something between the legs. And showed us

How amazing is that!! Sounds like a lovely experience. We really want a boy but of course would be over the moon with either 😆 xxx

Hey hope everyone is having a nice weekend, thought I would just let you all know I went for my Covid vaccine yesterday, no symptoms just a sore arm.
However I did feel dizzy after my vaccine and had to lay down, but the doctor thinks I had worked myself up over it as I was so nervous! Hope I've made the right decision!
Also had a funny episode on Friday in the shop and had to sit down on the floor! How embarrassing!
Anyone suffer with dizziness/fainting in 2nd trimester?
I am taking iron tablets so perhaps I need more, will speak to my midwife tomorrow :) x

tuxedocat · 27/06/2021 09:19

Hi @LAR96 I have a few times - it can be due to the extra blood starting to rush around the body, but do check with the MW to check your BP and iron levels to be safe!

Hope the vaccine goes well - I’m going to wait to 20/24 weeks to make a decision esp as the Pfizer can be done with a 5ish week wait inbetween. It’s a hard choice but as long as you’re happy with your choice, that’s all that matters!

LAR96 · 27/06/2021 09:22

@tuxedocat such a hard choice! A friend of mine has got Covid and she's 22 weeks pregnant which made me go get the vaccine! Getting a bit too close to home now!
Will let you know what the midwife says tomorrow thank you xx

tuxedocat · 27/06/2021 09:27

@LAR96 oh no, I hope she recovers alright!
It’s so tricky, especially as the advice is so different everywhere.

Make sure you keep your fluids up too in the meanwhile 💖💖

LAR96 · 27/06/2021 09:33

Thank you will do ❤️

I really hope I've made the right decision Smile

tuxedocat · 27/06/2021 09:36

@LAR96 the best thing I read was as long as you feel right with your choice that’s the main thing.

Remember over the course of the rest of your life you will make decisions and choices for your child and this is just one of them. Some of them are easy, some of them are hard ❤️❤️

LAR96 · 27/06/2021 09:40

@tuxedocat ahhh I've not heard that one but so true ❤️ this is my first but I think all we will all worry about our children for the rest of our lives! I love my baby so much already 🥰

jade0881 · 27/06/2021 09:43

@LAR96 hey hun weekend has been okayish.. I've been really tired this weekend. I have felt more flutters with baby too. On Friday night I actually felt a weird movement when I stretched and it made me jump. 🤦‍♀️
You can only go by what makes you happy and comfortable hun. Like @tuxedocat mentioned just make sure you eat and drink plenty of fluids. ❤️❤️

Aww I still haven't felt anything yet just the odd flutter every so often! Hoping I will soon xx

Flower1011 · 27/06/2021 13:07

Hi!! I’m due with our 1st baby 30th December! We’re very excited been suffering a lot with Sickness, I’m very small and starting to stretch already, and wondering what body lotions you all would recommend for tummy and hips . I’m trying to use all pregnancy safe creams etc. But noticed lots of options with wildly different prices. Looking for real people’s thoughts rather than the info off paid google adds - thank you and congratulations to everyone as well

LAR96 · 27/06/2021 13:23

congratulations!! I'm using the weleda stretch mark oil, it's brilliant xx

2020mission · 27/06/2021 13:41

Hey @Flower1011 same due date here! Welcome. I've just got palmers cocoa butter but haven't used it yet since I've no bump really at all yet. Hopefully someone here who's had a pregnancy before will be able to give recommendations from experience.

Curlymam88 · 27/06/2021 14:14

@Flower1011 congratulations Smile I use Palmers tummy butter rub in the day then I use bio oil in the evening. The bio oil is really good, I prefer it to the Palmers butter.

Flower1011 · 27/06/2021 15:50

Thank you! I’ve been looking at palmers, only thing that puts me off with Bio oil is the vitamin A in it but I’m going to take another look now, I was looking at mama Mio but it’s really expensive and doesn’t seem to be mentioned that much

tuxedocat · 27/06/2021 15:57

In my last pregnancy Asda had a bump cream called NSPA I think or similar, it was £6 and it was great

burtle4 · 27/06/2021 23:31

Welcome @Flower1011! To be honest I'm not entirely convinced anything is going to stop the stretch marks if they're going to happen. Some people are lucky and don't get any and others get riddled despite using the creams! I used palmers coconut butter for my first pregnancy religiously and ended up getting a few stretch marks on the final week - gutted as thought I'd got away with it! Second pregnancy I didn't get quite as big with my girl and didn't get any extra marks despite not bothering with much cream. This time I'll probably just use some coconut oil to keep the skin moisturised but think it will happen whatever if your skin is susceptible to them!x

burtle4 · 27/06/2021 23:35

@Lar96 thanks for the info on the covid jab, think I'm going to get mine too but wait a few more weeks first... such a hard decision to make!

I don't think I've felt any movements yet but hoping it won't be long as am 15 weeks now. Had a bit more spotting over the weekend so it would be lovely to have the reassurance of some movement!

jade0881 · 28/06/2021 07:29

@Flower1011 hello welcome to the thread and congratulations.. I'm using the palmers coco butter stretch mark cream. I used this when I was pregnant daughter who is now 6.

@burtle4 aww hun, is it just random spotting or is it after sexual intercourse( sorry I kinda put you on the spot) x

OP posts:
LAR96 · 28/06/2021 07:40

@burtle4 I'm 15 weeks too and would love to feel some movement soon :) do what you think is right regarding the vaccine xx
