Post sex bleeding

I’m 8+2 and my husband and I had a quick ahem fumble (though before it came to much) I’ve started bleeding.

I’m in no pain, it’s fresh blood and it seems to be a mild amount. No clots, one little bit with some discharge (TMI!) and tailing off to be spotting.

My gut says it’s just my cervix being irritated, or do I need to be worried? Google mostly says as long as there’s no pain and it’s not a ridiculous amount of blood then it shouldn’t be anything of concern?

If it stops after a day or 2 it's usually not a problem, you can contact your GP to see if they will refer you for a scan to check though.

I had spotting for a day after sex at 14 weeks, it was absolutely terrifying (baby follows 2 mc's). I didn't contact my GP or midwife about it though, probably should have. I think it was just cervical irritation, I've had 2 scans since then and am 26+4wk now. Haven't let dh touch me since then though.

Hi I didn’t wanna read and not respond..
But you’re right it’s probably just your cervix.. I’ve had bleeding around 9 weeks after sex and all was well! As long as it doesn’t get heavier and no cramps! Goodluck x

Thanks ladies I appreciate both of your comments 💐

It’s tailed off now and almost stopped completely thankfully. Less than an hours worth if that and it was only mild at the start. Bit like when you knock something.

Still not cramping (🤞🏻) cervix feels perhaps a tad sore like it does on your period you know?so I’m pretty certain that’s it. Think I’ll rest up for the rest of the evening (was gonna run, but think I’ll leave it!) and keep tabs on if it returns or not.

Luckily I had a private scan last week and saw baby with heartbeat flickering away so feel reassured by that for some part ❤️
