Is it twins? Help needed guys!!

Just been for a private viability scan and I should have been 6w3d however I’m measuring at 5w6d and there’s a sac with a very strong heartbeat (overjoyed!!! 😀) There’s also another sac which is smaller that looks empty at the moment which the sonographer said he cannot confirm it is another baby or not because he cannot see anything. What he did say was twins develop at different rates and he’s asked us to go back in 2 weeks.
Has this happened to anyone else before? And if so what was the outcome?? Thanks guys xx

It's a possibility but only time will tell if the 2nd sac develops in to a viable twin.

I have fraternal twins. They were always within a couple of days of each other measurement wise on scans,1st scan they were over 7wk. There was 6oz between their birth weights at 38wk.

My twins measured 3 days difference

I have twins where at an early scan at about 7 weeks they saw 1 embryo with heart beat and an 'undeveloped egg sac'..
.the undeveloped egg sac' and her identical twin sister are now 7. What I would say is that it was very obvious at 12w so I think you would know by then.
