At which scan can you find out the gender? I'm getting confused because some posts on here state they couldn't confirm at 12 weeks?

Too early generally at 12 weeks, more likely to tell at 20 weeks. My hospital wouldn't tell you the sex of the baby. I needed a private scan to find out

You can find out privately from 16 weeks, or usually at your 20 week scan they will tell you if you want. Sometimes you can guess from 12 week scan using things like the 'nub theory' but that's all a bit iffy

12 weeks is nub theory stuff which can be useful but as a PP said, it’s incredibly iffy and largely down to angles/interpretation

Wouldn't expect to find out before 16wk.
Private clinics offer a well being and gender scan from 16wk. Hospital will tell you what they think if baby is in a good position at the anomaly scan, usually between 18 & 21wk.
We've had private scans with 2 of ours at 16 weeks and it was very clear which flavour they were at that stage.

Far to early at 12 weeks. 20 weeks scan you can be told gender. But most private clinics state they can tell the gender and allow you to book gender scans at 16 weeks.

The sonographer told me what they through when I was 12 weeks I was shocked I was expecting her to say no (I did ask if she would have a look) intrigued to know if she will be right in a couple of weeks
