Itchy stomach at 15 weeks?

I know itchiness is a part of pregnancy but I didn't think it would be this early. Just wondering if anyone else had this and if it's normal? I'm 15+3 and it's only started today. I've been extra bloated today aswell which makes me look like I have a bump but I don't really.

Totally normal, it's where your stomach skin is stretching, especially if you feel bigger than normal. Lots of moisturiser 🙌

I dont want to frighten you, itching is a very normal part of pregnancy but sometimes it can be a sign of cholestasis. If the itching was to be worse at night and often in your hands or feet you should contact your midwife. Itchiness of the bump is generally due to stretching and very normal though.

@Jesusmaryjosephandtheweedon thank you, I had cholestasis last year funnily enough so that was my first worry! It's no where near as bad as that this time though and it does just seem to be on my stomach. I was just curious if itchiness from stretching could happen this early as I don't even have a bump yet. Will see how it is over the next couple of days ☺️ xx

Ah I just wanted to make you aware so that's perfect. Sorry you have previously experienced it though. The stretching can happen even before bump starts to appear so I would say very normal

I had cholestasis, it tends to come back in subsequent pregnancies so it would be best if you ask for a test.

@BeautifulandWilfulandDead oh really I didn't know that. Thank you. Not sure if it makes a difference but mine was caused by gallstones and I had my gallbladder removed last year so didn't really think about it like that. I have a midwife call on Monday so I will mention it to be on the safe side. The itchiness seems to have eased now but il get it checked out ☺️ xx
