I know people say ovulation tests can pick up pregnancy but is that just a myth? I done a clearblue early about 2pm today as I'm due on tomorrow I'm 11dpo but was negative don't know why I did but I took an ovulation and was positive but wouldn't that be impossible to be ovulating now?

Absolutely not a myth and I'd say there's a VERY good chance your pregnant based on that test.

Personal experience!

Thanks for reply @ApplePie86 wouldn't the pregnancy test I took earlier would of been positive though?

@charlotte0808 I'm assuming 2pm wasn't first morning urine and at only 11DPO I'd be surprised if a CB gave a positive for an afternoon pee.

Unless there's a chance you've massively misjudged ovulation?

I've also heard a positive OPK can be result of a UTI.

No wasn't my fmu it was the early detection test. I had peak ovulation 30th April that was the last and darkest positive ov test I had. Also don't think I have uti no burning or anything. Suppose can just wait for af I'll probs do another pregnancy test tomorrow

I’ve attached my positive OPK the day before I got my bfp. But if your pregnancy test is negative, you aren’t pregnant as a pregnancy test would pick it up before an ovulation test. I’ve read on here it can be positive just before your period

@Thefaceofboe crazy how it works isn't it! Was hoping I'd be pregnant this month. I've had 3 chemicals and they offered me the progesterone pessaries next time I got bfp but typical now it won't be that easy to get pregnant again!

@charlotte0808 aw good luck, I’ve got my fingers crossed for you! It took us over 2 years to get pregnant without even a sniff of a faint line but getting chemicals must be even harder and disappointing Sad

Mamamamasaurus · 12/05/2021 10:19

I've had BFP on an OPK, I then followed up with a FRER which was positive too. My positive OPK is now almost 5!

Fingers crossed for you

@Mamamamasaurus I took a clearblue early test again this morn and was negative so I don't think I am pregnant this time but strange though

@Thefaceofboe it's been bloody hard work all of it has. So mentally draining after the first I thought would never happen again but it did. I do count myself lucky though as I'm glad I didn't get months into pregnancy and something go wrong

Clearblue aren't as sensitive as other tests, such as FRER, they need you to be further along (therefore higher HCG levels) to give a true reading. Try to get an FRER and use your FMU, dip - don't pee onto the stick

charlotte0808 · 12/05/2021 10:35

@Mamamamasaurus I used my 3 first response test when I was less than a week dpo 🙈 the clearblue I used was the 6days early one so 10mlu sensitivity. Very doubtful it has worked this month but got my bloods for recurrent miscarriage clinic on 25th may so it's a start
