Newbie202012 · 11/05/2021 17:53

Hi so I'm currently going through my 5th miscarriage I recently seen a gynaecologist due to recurrence miscarriage I feel like my appointment was rushed all they did was 4 blood tests and said atleast I'm falling pregnant that's the main thing and keep trying. I mentioned a couple of thing like I spot inbetween my af and af is really heavy her reply was that's normal (I dont think so) my lutal phase is normally11 to 12 days mostly 11 I ovalateon day 15 of my cycle and have a 26 to 27 day cycle she wouldnt prescribe me progesterone what I thought was standard she just said take asprin from bfp, after taking asprin for 3 days after my bfp I started brown spotting every day until today it was a heavy flow and confirmed misscarage , I'm trying to get as much information as I can to prevent another miscarriage (I have to try) so my question is has anyone took vitamin b6 to prevent
miscarriage because I've heard it will increase progesterone and help with implantation , so if anyone has any advice how how much to take and if I should take it after ovalation or all of my cycle
any advice would be much appreciated thankyou for reading

Hiya
My cycle was all over the place after my mc in June and I ended up taking a B Complex. I read a lot about the B50 Complex but I took the B100 complex from Holland and Barrett and after 7 months of not conceiving and spotting before my AF we conceived first month of trying. I carried on taking it until week 7 and then moved on to a pregnancy multi vitamin. With the complex B I also took COQ10 which apparently helped with eggs and did acupuncture so it could have been either of those things...but I’m now 12 weeks.
Have the doctors not recommended a progesterone pessary or anything? Wishing you all the luck in the world.

Ps I took it every day - you have to ignore the bright yellow pee!

I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I really feel for you and it seems so unfair that your consultant isn't taking you seriously. I would definitely look at finding another.
My story in brief, we started trying for our 3rd in January 2019 after having no issues with conceiving three times in 2010, 2011 and 2013 (although spotting in early days of pregnancy was always a thing for me.)
2 years of no success I finally managed to speak to a fertility specialist due to my constant spotting and short luteal phase (period often went on more than 12 days because of it) and asked him if he could prescribe me progesterone. I also started taking a high strength vitamin b complex and two months later i fell pregnant for the first time in 2.5 years!! I don't believe it was coincidence.
I've continued to take the pessaries and b complex and so far have had no spotting (am around 8 weeks) which I had in all 3 of my previous pregnancies (1 mmc at 13 weeks, 2 healthy pregnancies).
Sorry, that didn't end up being a very short story but I hope it helps, I would really push for the progesterone pessaries, it undoubtedly helped me. Good luck x

@Newbie202012 have a look at progesterone boosting foods. I'm not sure how much they can boost your progesterone but might be worth a try. If not you could get progesterone privately? That's what I ended up doing. Sorry to hear of your losses

Chelyanne · 11/05/2021 19:07

This one follows 2 mc's and a few chemicals, 26wk now. I've never had investigation in to losses, our 2nd child followed 2mc's and our 3rd followed 1 mc too, not counted how many chemicals along the way. But I know I can carry a baby term (2 in 1 pregnancy) so just kept trying and eventually we get a successful pregnancy.

I hadn't read anything about B6 helping but I have that in all my multivitamins anyway. I did read about zinc improving progesterone though and took extra of that alongside multivitamins the 1st few months.
I have asda's own pregnancy multivitamins, £3.50 for 60pk so pretty good value.

Condolences on your losses and good luck ttc.

I would push for further tests or speak to Tommy’s as they can give you advice on what to say to the doctors to help them understand that it’s not ok for a female to go through this.

happygolucky20 · 11/05/2021 21:57

Further tests too* but defo try the B100 xxx

Newbie202012 · 12/05/2021 12:35
