Round Ligament Pain

Is anyone else having this? It just started for me a couple days ago and its not very severe pain but its literally almost everytime I move so it does feel a bit debilitating.

For anyone who has had it, did it continue throughout the pregnancy or did it eventually ease off?

I meant to add that I'm 18 weeks now. Had been having such a great pregnancy up until this!

I’m getting it on and off at nearly 14 weeks now. I remember it with dd3 and it’s not nice. It won’t last long and means everything is getting ready.

Maybe take some paracetamol?

Thanks for your reply! I hope you're right that it won't last too long! I'm taking paracetamol but I don't think its doing much to help really.

Get a pregnancy support band, this helps me. I still get ligament pain and I'm 32 weeks. Just make sure your getting up slowly, no sudden moments, and if you're going to cough/sneeze stretch out a bit first.

shivawn · 12/05/2021 06:56

@rbetty When did it start for you? And is it constant everytime you move? At the moment I'm just living in hope that this isn't going to continue for the next 22 weeks! Sad I'll try a support band thanks, although I barely even have a bump to support at the moment!

It's the first symptom I get so starts at about 4-5 weeks, and lasts all the way through for me. Sneezing and turning in bed are the worst for me, but I remember towards the last few weeks last time walking for just a few mins would start it off too.

MeadowHay · 12/05/2021 11:20

I had it 'all the way through' last time but it wasn't constant, it would come and go, some days I'd be very sore others not at all really. So I wouldn't assume you will be in permanent pain for the rest of your pregnancy. I think some gentle exercise and stretching might actually be helpful? Not sure, might be worth speaking to your midwife about. I just tried/try to ignore it as much as possible really but mine doesn't sound as bad as I've never needed pain relief for it. Definitely get up slowly from sitting though, that's always when I get the sharpest pain is if I suddenly stand up quickly, ouch.

I'm 40 weeks on Saturday and I have had this off and on throughout. As stated above a support belt helps. I think birth is going to be the only cure at this point as mine has got much worse in the past week. Congratulations and Good Luck OP. Flowers

I've been having it since about 13 weeks (now 20). It's quite on and off, some days it's quite bad but I think it's when I've badly twinged them during the night or getting up awkwardly etc. Last few days I've barely had anything so it definitely comes and goes. I know the feeling though, it's really unpleasant when it goes on all day.

shivawn · 13/05/2021 17:48

Thanks everyone, I've been finding it better the last day or 2. I can still feel it anytime I move but not as painful as it was when it first started.
