Uti again - is 38 a high temp?

Hello,
Had my second uti in the last month. Last time it took until the 7th and last day for the antibiotics to work (nitrofurantoin) I felt terrible all the way to the end! That time I had a sample sent to the lab
This time they didn't send a sample and just gave the nitrofurantoin, I'm on day 4 and no improvements really, the pain has subsided abit which I guess shows they're working? But I feel awful and tired/dizzy, my temp today is 38. Do I need to do anything or just wait until the end of the course?

I would contact your gp or out of hours to recheck you over. They should really have sent a sample to the lab to check the type of infection and which antibiotics work best.

Do call your GP, 38 ° is a temperature spike. In the meantime I'd take paracetamol to bring down your temperature.

38 degrees is a low grade temperature. You’re bang on the number for it to be considered high.

Why didn’t they send a sample? They really should’ve done that so the infection could be cultured and matched to an antibiotic for you.

Hope it gets better soon. If in doubt go to OOH or your GP as the previous poster said.

As @Absc says. Usually I give 24-48 hours for antibiotics to improve things. If not straight back to the GP

In the mean time plenty of fluids, paracetamol to get the temperature down and a cold shower/bath.

Thank you for all replies
The uti a few weeks ago was my old gp and I rang after 4 days to say no improvement but they said take the whole 7 day course so I did and it eventually worked
This is a new gp as I've just moved and the receptionist was just passing info to the gp over the phone, I obviously told them I'm 33 weeks pregnant but the gp never spoke to me just sent prescription to pharmacy
It's strange as the uti symptoms have improved abit but just headache and temperature/feel off, I might call 111 if this continues
Paracetamol isn't working :(
