Miscarried but still showing positive test

Hi all, just over 4 weeks ago got the sad news during a scan that I had a missed miscarraige my baby was measuring 7.8mm crl and no heartbeat was gutted and very upset I opted for medical management and had the pessaries a couple of days later. I came home and bled and lost my baby that night. I've been bleeding on and off til last week. Had a very heavy bleed 2 weeks ago and passed more tissue. Thing is they said after 3 weeks to take a preg test which I did on Friday and it was a faint positive rang epu. Who told me to test again a week later. Well I thought I'd test today as I've not bled in 5 days and thought the end might be close and we can start trying for our rainbow baby. But the preg test still faint positive. Has anyone had this happen? And what was the reason?

It could be you still haven’t passed everything. Please give them a call they will scan you and see if anything has been left behind.
I had to go back because it happened to me, they took the last bit out surgically.

When I miscarried at 9 weeks it took 6 weeks for my tests to go negative.
Mine was a natural miscarriage and I bled on and off very lightly for a few weeks before one night experiencing contractions and very obviously passed the sac. From that night onwards it took only a couple of days for my hcg to drop below 5 and get a negative test.

If there’s no chance it could be a new pregnancy then I’d contact the EPU and explain you’re still having positive tests and they will likely want to scan you to check for any retained products.

Hi, I've been to epu today and they told me that all tissue has gone, I just have some leftover blood in my uterus which they said will come out when I'm on my period so that's good news. Hopefully my cycles come back and me and hubby can try again. Thankyou for your kind replies.
