Static Growth @ 34weeks

Hi,

I had my 34 week midwife appt on Friday and when she plotted my measurements they were exactly the same as 2 weeks ago and not anywhere near where they would expect on the chart. At my 28 week appt the bump measured small and I had a growth scan which still showed he was small but not of a concern.
Obviously the fact it shows he’s potentially not grown for 2 weeks is making me worried and I’m just hoping I get a call from hosp tomorrow to get me in for the scan. Does anyone have experience of this?
I’ve googled it and the common reasons for it don’t apply to me so I’m wondering what the issue could be.

This happened to be at 36 weeks. I was induced and baby was absolutely fine. The reasons for it happening were never found.

@CheshireCats thank you, do you mind me asking what weight your baby was at birth?
Sounds like I should prepare for having him earlier than expected!

DC was 6lb 8 born at 37 weeks. They are now by far my tallest child of 3 so it had no bearing on future growth either Smile

I had this, bump was actually slightly smaller than the previous time. Got sent straight to the hospital for a scan, but the growth measured fine in the scan. Had c section at 39 weeks as already planned.

I always get sent for scans after having bump measured in my pregnancies. The growth charts just don't work for me I don't think. I always drove to my midwife appointments at the nearby gp surgery knowing I would be going straight from there to the hospital.

I hope all is well when you get your scan.

@ChikiTIKI yea, it does seem they’re not really that accurate!
Thank you Smile hoping they call me first thing tomorrow as it’s the not knowing that’s worse! X

I had a similar experience recently. My fundal height hadn’t increased between my 32 and 34 week appointments. So I was referred for a growth scan. Baby’s measurements were actually fine (over 50th centile) but they discovered I had unusually high pressure in the cord which is associated with poor growth. I’ve since had to have twice weekly scans to check this and then had another growth scan last week and baby is actually growing fine and the cord seems to have sorted itself out. Baby weighed 6lb13 at 36+5 so growth isn’t an issue at all! I’ll have another growth scan in around 10 days if baby still hasn’t arrived.

@Nat4392 ah that’s interesting! Thanks so much for sharing, it’s defo helped out my mind at rest hearing other people’s experiences of it. Good luck with the arrival of your little one 😊 💕 x
