Hi all

I've noticed that since being pregnant I have become very itchy around my breast. Rather then itch it I put cream(e45 or coca butter) around the itchy ness..

Has anyone else experienced any time of itchy...

Your skin can be very sensitive in pregnancy but it itching can also be a symptom of a liver problem called ICP. Your midwife can give you a blood test to check. Itching is normally on palms and soles but can be elsewhere.

I think its probably the skin stretching as your body grows. I get itchy sometimes at the sides of my stomach, especially in the last couple weeks since my bump has made an appearance.

I got very itchy during my second pregnancy. It turned out to be due to a condition called Obstetric Coliostasis (think that is spelt right) and the birth was induced at 37 weeks. It was to do with a build up of salt in the liver which is harmful to the baby (or can be) past 37 weeks.

Totally normal, I was super super itchy. It’s just your skin stretching

Yes I have been itchy. I was worried about the liver issue mentioned above but blood test was clear. Apparently it’s just mostly on the palms and soles of the feet which are signs of it as well as it being worse in the evening.
