To ask about nesting

With DC1 I never experienced nesting. I thought it was one of those made up things! I'm only 29 weeks now but I woke up yesterday with the strong urge to sort and tidy and cleared out a spare room that did have a lot of junk in it. I've now woken up desperate to clean out the wardrobes Confused I'm normally very quite lazy, surely nesting doesn't start this early?

It does!

32 weeks and been furiously decorating for about 4 months. Even tidied out the kitchen cutlery drawers last week.

Sixth pregnancy here. No nesting. Hmm

TooManyAnimals94 · 09/05/2021 08:45

Feel like we've been nesting since about 12 weeks! Well....DH has, I just nod, smile and ask him how much I owe him for paint, cribs, crap we don't need. I'm getting more into it now but I'm in the final stages of finishing a degree and I just don't have time to go full on nesting mummy yet.

I honestly didn't have it during the pregnancy but since then am all over the place trying to clear and clean..

I bought and furnished a house in the early stages of this pregnancy so I don't really feel I've truly nested, if anything as I've got more heavy and uncomfortable I'm doing even less to the house!

I have heard some women "nest" really early, doesn't mean their babies come early too. I just take it as one of those pregnancy phenomena that people may or may not get .

How much you owe him?? Your DH? 🤨

I cleaned out and reorganised all the kitchen cupboards, sorted the under stairs cupboard, cleared out the spare room and made a collage of all the little bits from our wedding ...I’m usually neither tidy or crafty but had to be done Grin

Chelyanne · 09/05/2021 10:44

I started "nesting" in the 1st trimester. I couldn't stand the clutter and went on a cleaning rampage too. Now 25+5wk and can't do much more organising as the loft needs boarding out and I can not get up there. Husband is working away until I'm 34/35 wk now and it's driving me crazy because I have to wait for him, I wanted it done before he went but him being him didn't see any urgency. I never get to relax at the back end of pregnancy Sad.

@interest12 is it that hard to believe that some couples split the costs of things?

OP, I feel like I’ve been nesting forever but I also tend to be quite like that anyway, even when I’m not pregnant. I’ve just had lots more regular urges to tidy and sort things out, but that’s also probably partly to do with the fact that I finished work at 33 weeks and I’ve had nothing else to do since!

TooManyAnimals94 · 09/05/2021 13:26

@interest12 well he buys things but we split the cost so half...
