Baby number 4 - freaking out!!

I just found out I’m pregnant with my 4th baby. Haven’t told my partner yet. Not really planned but not avoided either, I quite liked the idea of having a 4th and final one, and we’d had the conversation about having a 4th and agreed my partner would get the snip after.. but now I’m pregnant I’m panicking.

Our kids are young so it’s small age gaps, it will be 4 under 5. We will need an extra bedroom and a bigger car.

Basically I’m freaking out. Don’t know if I’ll cope, with the pregnancy or with having 4 young children.

Has anyone had 4 under 5? Did you survive and make it out sane?

the 4th will be a doddle......

Think the hardest is going 1 solo or 1-2, once you chuck a 3rd or 4th into the mix it's just Grin

The 3rd/4th once out the newborn upto around 9months is over seem to just get on with it

Aprilwasverywet · 08/05/2021 19:48

3 to 4 was barely noticible and only had a 14 month gap!

Motherbride · 08/05/2021 20:00

Oh thank you!! Lovely to hear some positive experiences!

I had an 11 month gap between the first two, then a 2.5 year gap and this will be 14 months! The third just had to fit in with life’s routines and I’ve found it easy so hoping it will be the same!

It’s just the practicalities. Need to upgrade the pram again too 🙈

I used to do breakfast, school run and a long walk(to a cafe!) until they both fell asleep. Coffee and a cake and walked home!! Napped together until oldest stopped the nap. And 4 walked well before 3. Lazy buggar. Used a buggy with a decent bar at the back for ds 3 to stand on! Silver cross wayfarer back then!! Dc are 25 +26 now!!
Congratulations op!!

I am 38 weeks with baby number 4! My other children are 5..3 and 17 months.. my older 2 have autism and my 17 month old is also showing development delays so I am also wondering how I'm going to cope 😳 this baby wasn't planned either.. we will be ok haha we have to be dont we x

Mother2princess · 08/05/2021 20:31

I have 5 under 5

4 3 2 1 and 1 week old
2 special needs in the mix

Its busy but manageable

Motherbride · 08/05/2021 20:51

@Aprilwasverywet sounds like the perfect routine! My 1st will be starting school in September and 2nd will be starting nursery in the mornings at the same school so I guess I’ll be doing something very similar! I was planning on going back to work in September but that’s obviously not happening now 🙈

Wow, @LayingLow & @Mother2princess you’re both amazing. Yes, you have to just get on with it but it takes strength to get up and get on with it every day, especially when there’s extra needed from you, so hats off to you both.

I’m second guessing myself now, these tests are faintly positive aren’t they? I’m going to get a digital tomorrow to be sure.

Motherbride · 09/05/2021 14:14

Yeah I did first thing this morning.. the line is still faint so I’m going to get a clear blue digital in a min. Will either do that later or wait till the morning xx

Congratulations, you'll be fine.

With our last (unplanned) term pregnancy we had twins, when they were born our others were 9, 4 & 2. It was tiring but I love it. We had to get a bigger car but our 3 bed house has been fine although a bit cramped. We're expecting our 6th now (planned), dh works away and has a 2nd car now so we will stick with the same car as I can take all the kids in the 7 seater and he'll take his too if we go out as a family. I didn't tell him about this one for a week after finding out as we'd had a mc 5 month earlier and a chemical the cycle before bfp. 25+5wk now with our 5th girl, feel for our poor boy lol.

Motherbride · 09/05/2021 20:23

Oh wow congratulations @Chelyanne!! Can I ask which car you got? We’re struggling to find a 7 seater we like!

I did the clear blue and it’s official, baby #4 is definitely on their way! Exciting but nerve wracking.

I also can’t even guess how far along I really am because I haven’t even had a period since giving birth 6 months ago! Not sure how we even managed to get pregnant we hardly ever DTD anyway 😂

We went for the Ford S max, I love it! Loads of room in it but still looks more like a car than a van.
