Baby bump drop

Hi there,

I hope you are well and keeping safe.
I was wondering if someone can share their experiences with me to give me some reassurance and answer my query.
My question is- once your baby bump drops, does your baby come within a few weeks (especially if it is your first pregnancy)? So even before your full term date?
A little back story, my bump dropped at week 35 and I had my midwife appointment yesterday (currently week 35+4days) where she confirmed that the baby is engaged and in position. My due date is the 1st of June and I wanted to know if it’s likely that the baby will come before that considering all the signs are there? Or can he still arrive on his due date, despite being engaged so early on?
I know this won’t make any sense but I wanted him to be a June baby so I’m praying he either arrives on his due date or anything in June!

Your experiences shared will be appreciated!

Thank you

Zlekha

It doesn't mean much if it's your first baby. Also you mixed up your dates. If you are due on the first of June you are 36 weeks and 4 days today. If you are 35 weeks and 4 days today your due date is June 8.

Hi there, Thank you so much for getting back to me. Apologies- I am 36 weeks and 4 days, writing that message at 4am wasn't a good idea! So baby bump dropped at week 35. Currently at week 36 and over with the baby's positioned in the right place and engaged. All the other blogs say that once your baby bump drops, you go into labour within a few weeks so I wasn't too sure in all honesty. Thanks
