I can't think of any guidance from the NHS that would say it's unsafe in pregnancy, and if it tickles your pregnant taste buds, go for it.
Personally it makes me feel sad, the kind of thing my mum would have scraped together due to lack of opportunity to buy us enough food.

It’s widely used after childbirth in the Asian culture to help your body recover and to give you strength.
There’s nothing wrong with taking it during pregnancy.
