Scan pictures- safe to photocopy?

Are scan pictures safe to photocopy??

I know that sunlight ruins them quick so I'm worried if the light of a photocopier would damage the picture quality of the real scans....

Has anyone had experience on having them copied?
Did they get ruined? Stay the same? Get duller/less clear?

My scan is on the 14th and it seems like EVERYONE wants a copy but no way am I paying for them all and I want the originals myself obviously.

Thanks!

I wouldn’t risk it, my family wanted copies and I downloaded a scanning app on my phone, used it to take a photo of the scans which saved as a PDF and then printed them. ☺️

I just took a photo on phone and sent it to mum etc.

Take a photo of it could print that then if required. I have found this method good for getting print copies of old photos

NOOOOO. Don't do it.. My colleague did it at work and it ruined them instantly. Worse is that it was our bosses long awaited first grandchild - colleague was mortified. Luckily it turned out not to be the only copy

Also don't laminate them. The heat in the laminate destroys the photo.

I photocopied mine and they’re ok. Means I’ve got them once they fade too

SweetSunflowerBoo · 06/05/2021 22:49

Thanks all!

I scanned mine.

Cupcakegirl13 · 06/05/2021 22:55

I was just coming on to say don’t laminate as well - I learnt that the hard way !

Babyfg · 06/05/2021 23:22

Can you not just send a photo of the scan that you took with your phone? That's how we shared ours.

BlairWarner · 06/05/2021 23:30

Secret: nobody actually looks at them. Just Google scan pictures and send a link to that. EVERYONE will tell you how great it is and all the same conversations as if you sent your actual ones.

Ireallymustgotobed · 06/05/2021 23:31

I tried to laminate mine too. Hormonally sobbed that I was a rubbish mum cos I’d melted the baby. (Now ex) H looked at me like I was mad and reminded me we had taken photos of them which were safe on the computer.

Grin I'm a bit offended that no one wants a copy of my DC2s scan photos now 🤣
