Am I getting close to labour?

I am a couple days of 35 weeks today pregnant and my daughter is very low down, I've been extremely tired and had 2 random bursts of energy where I got everything in the house cleaned in a few hours, then back to being exhausted.

Tuesday night I woke up in the night at 2:30am and couldn't get back to sleep until 7am I felt weird about that to start of with as it's very usual for me - the morning after I woke up 9:30am and I started getting mild lower back and lower belly pains these gradually got more uncomfortable and painful throughout the day and I also started getting pains in my sides mainly round the back and on one side, the lower back pain was most of the time constant and belly pain came every 30 mins/ 1 hour. I went out for dinner at my mums to see if it would make me feel any better, it made me feel worse and the pains intensified so I went home, had a bath, while I was in the bath the pains completely went when I got out they come back, I took 2 paracetamol and felt better for a few hours until the back pain come back just before I fell asleep. Woke up this morning feeling sick and lower back pain is creeping back but is very mild again? Has anyone had anything like this before labour I'm certain something isn't right

You should always call triage if you have any concerns?

Is this your first baby? If so, it's statistically (but not impossible) not likely to be labour as most first babies are overdue.

I agree that you should call the hospital if you are unsure but it isn't true that 1st babies are mostly over due. Mine wasn't, in fact I don't know anyone's who's is. Babies are most commonly born from 39-41weeks but it doesn't mean it can't happen sooner.

Agree with above, call triage. It's not ideal to be in labour at 35 weeks either, so they'll probably want to check you over

You are under 37 weeks and think you are showing signs of labour. You must ring the hospital and be assessed.

It could be braxton hicks pains, especially as they eased off when you went for a bath so please try not to panic, but as others said, better to get checked over at the maternity unit anyway just to make sure. Give them a call and they'll be able to advise
