‘Unidentified antibody’ found in my blood?

I am 30 weeks pregnant, and my last blood test showed an ‘unidentified antibody’. My blood has been sent off for further testing which takes 2 weeks. Has anyone experienced this before?

I am Rhesus negative and baby is Rhesus positive. I’ve had multiple small bleeds from an ectropion on my cervix, so I have had anti-D injections multiple times during this pregnancy.

I have no idea whether it’s something to worry about or not - all I’ve been told is to wait to see what the testing shows and then an ‘action plan’ can be made - but it’s definitely making me worry!

I know this is far easier said than done, but until they identify exactly what the antibody is then it's best to take their advice and try not to worry. The midwives won't know if it's something to be concerned about or if it's an incidental finding until it's identified. It may mean nothing more than they have to keep some special blood units ready for your delivery (just in case you need blood in a hurry) or it might mean they keep a closer eye on baby for the rest of your pregnancy. Sorry that I can't give you a definite answer either way (impossible without knowing what the antibody is), but didn't want to read and run when I know a bit about transfusion science. Good luck OP 🍀

Hello I know this is an old thread but I want to see what the outcome was of this? I had unidentified antibodies in blood found at my 28 week bloods. I had to have another blood test that they've sent off and I'll get the results next week but I can't help but worry about it.
