Ectopic pregnancy?

Hi all

I have titled this as ectopic pregnancy? As I'm really not sure what's going on and I just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced anything similar?...

So I'm 4 days early for my 'period' and have been bleeding for around a day and a half and now it's coming to a stop, and all day today I have had a pain in my right side (middle of my torso) and a pain in the tip of my shoulder that has worsened throughout the day to the point it's now excruciating when I stand/walk/do anything but it's okay when I lay down. I didn't think I could even be pregnant but actually looking at my cycle on the app 'Flo' there could be a very very VERY small chance I could be...and if I was I'd be around 4 weeks.

Does anyone have any advice or experience with this?

I just wanted to add aswell that I'm very bloated so I don't know if it could just be some kind of indigestion pain...sorry if I sound completely ridiculous 🥴

Have you taken a pregnancy test?

If it’s positive, and you’ve got one-sided pain, phone your EPU. If you haven’t tested positive, I’d phone 111 with those symptoms anyway, shoulder pain can also be a sign of other things that benefit from quick attention.

Hi, no I haven't taken a test as I didn't even think I could be...I was going to call 111 but it all seems to ease when I lay down so I'm not sure if it's just some kind of gas pain, and I don't want to waste anyone's time 🥺

It could be gas, that can be pretty excruciating when it’s bad!

Can you get access to a pregnancy test tonight? And maybe some antacids, to see if that helps with the gas?

Your symptoms were similar to mine when I thought I had an ectopic pregnancy (had positive pregnancy tests) however I didn't have shoulder tip pain which was the main thing they focused on when I called doctor and EPU.

They never scanned me but took blood 2 days apart for 8 days as it took ages for my HCG to disappear.

I am now 100% positive I was never pregnant and in fact had a cyst. I have PCOS but never have cysts that cause pain.

The pain in my side was the most unbearable pain ever and only ibuprofen took the edge off (paracetamol did nothing) although if you think you're pregnant you're not meant to take ibuprofen.

You should definitely phone EPU to rule out ectopic as that could be really dangerous.

You should definitely take a test. Is it possible you could have conceived the cycle before this one?

With mine I had told the docs I was 4 weeks and I was actually 8 weeks.
