Prominent NT at 10 weeks

Not sure why I am writing this really but I feel like I have been hit by a truck! We went for a reassurance scan at a private scanning place yesterday after experiencing a MMC last June. All was going well until the end when the lady informed us that we had a "prominent nuchal translucency". She advised us not to worry but, of course, I am freaking out! We have booked to go back and have a harmony test on Sunday when we will be 11 weeks exactly but has anyone else had this warning and then it be fine? My MW said they shouldn't have said anything at all as the NHS wouldn't mention it until 12 weeks when you can actually measure it. No measurements were taken yesterday at all.

Understanding your concern. Did they not actually measure the NT? I’m not sure what they would mean by prominent if they then didn’t take the measurement.
I think 10 weeks is still quite early for an accurate NT measurement which is why 12 weeks is why it’s done.
I had a harmony test done at 11 weeks plus a few days and they couldn’t get the measurement so waited a few days for the NHS one and all was fine.
Maybe call them and ask what they meant by it?

No, she said she couldn't take the measurement as it was before 12 weeks but just kept saying it was prominent but "not to worry". Of course, we are freaking out. We have just booked a Harmony test at the FMC in London for Friday. My 12 week scan is not until 17 May, so its the waiting game.

Let’s hope it was just the wrong choice of words! My thinking is if it was that ‘prominent’ then they would have been able to get a reading, and they probs didn’t do a reading as a little too early.
Friday isn’t too far and at least your mind will be put at ease at the time of scan. It’s such a whirlwind of emotions and scares isn’t it.
