Hello,
I'm having a c section in 6 weeks. Is there anything anyone would recommend for hospital bag that's not very obvious? Anything for healing after ie dressings, creams etc? Trying to be prepared! Thank you for any advice

Most of my suggestions have been covered. With the wound I was told to take the dressing off by day 2 and then keep clean and dry. I bought a pack of cheap flannels and used one to dry it after a shower, to make sure it stayed extra clean (perhaps overkill but it worked for me). Have some padding for the car ride home to put between wound and the seat belt and prepare to brace when going over speed bumps which there were several of to get out of the hospital car park.
Drink lots of water while in hospital, I think this made my 1st BM surprisingly easy. 1st and only birth so csnt compare.
My planned section was a great experience even in the unnerving 1st lockdown last year. Good luck OP!

I had a surprise c-section so wasn't prepared at all but this was all I really needed:

High waisted pants - nothing special - I just had black ones from Sainsbury's
Straw water bottle - handy to have near you but won't spill when you need to take painkillers in the night
Tonnes of paracetamol and ibuprofen - I took it constantly for two weeks
Loose or high waisted clothes - I lived in my maternity leggings after
Slip on shoes

Wish I had a long charger cable - in hospital I had a spare battery I used to charge my phone as post c-section as I couldn't reach the wall.

When you are home - prepare for not moving much. For the first couple of weeks bar a short daily walk I just rested. I have recovered well and put it down to taking it very easy and I say that with a toddler at home.

Ask for help - by healing well - it's the best for your family

Oh and a cushion for the car- between the seat belt and the scar
