Due date, sweep and bishops score

My due date is today and I had a stretch and sweep this morning. I was 1cm dilated and the midwife said that my cervix is still quite high and so it baby’s head, and cervix wasn’t very soft. I scored 3 on bishop score. I’m booked in for another sweep at 40+4 days, and an induction at 41 weeks. I’m worried that the induction will fail if nothing progresses in the next week. Has anyone got any experience with any of this?

The important thing to remember that while it's more likely, a low Bishop score is not a guarantee the induction will fail. My anecdata is that I went into my induction at 37 weeks with a Bishop score of 0. I needed the drip (and more pain relief than I had hoped for) but it all went well in the end.

I hope things have progressed by your next sweep, and baby appears before induction for you.

With my last baby I had a sweep at 41 weeks. I was given a rubbish Bishop score and told my cervix was "unfavourable" I think she put it. I went home and just cried because I felt like nothing was going to happen.....
...I went into labour the next day! Try and relax and think happy thoughts to release oxytocin! Don't worry, your baby will be here soon.
Best of luck Smile!

@Dyra thank you for replying! I'm glad that your induction went well in the end, this gives me hope!

@Jinglebells87 this is great for me to hear as sounds exactly like me yesterday! Went home after the sweep and cried, today I'm trying to be more positive, I know baby will be here eventually one way or another. The unknowing is the worst!

I had a bishop score of 0 when I was induced. Had one pessary and that took me to 7 (I think?). It was enough to break my waters anyway. I went on the drip though and had an epidural but the rest of the labour was fine. X
