Transverse/Breech

Anybody who had a transverse or breech baby, where were movements and what did your bump look like?

I'm 36 weeks, at 28 and 32 MW said baby was back to back breech. A scan at 33 weeks showed their head was down beside my left hip. I felt quite positive about baby staying cephalic but since then baby has been all sorts of ways round by the feel of it! I had a day of being really tender and I guessed baby had gone transverse - it was the strangest looking shape and it was bloody painful! Now I am back to having an intense burning under my rib cage, bad reflux and kicks either in my side or low low down. I can feel the hard lump of (?a head) high up! It's driving me nuts I just want to know where they're at and get comfortable. They're also still either back to back or lying at the side as my bump is really squishy.

I’m 37 weeks and most of the time baby is transverse. The bump is very wide and it makes my hips hurt terribly. Then she’ll flip and I have a foot under my rib cage and terrible reflux/ heartburn. I keep hoping she will engage now and stay put but she likes being transverse. 🤦‍♀️

My baby changed position constantly. At my 38 week apt he was oblique breach which they weren't happy with (in case waters broke and placenta came out) so they admitted me. Plan was for a section the following day. My waters broke that night- cue lots of panic and prep for an emergency section. But when the dr came to check me baby had turned head down and was well engaged! I delivered him a few hours later and avoided section. So anything can happen!

I've had both but at the same time. Our upper twin was transverse throughout and the lower was cephalic from 20wk until after 32+5wk where she turned breech. They were extremely active and I was huge so it was always uncomfortable. All I noticed was that my bump felt much heavier all of a sudden and I presume that was when she turned breech.
This one is very wriggly and changes position a lot more than our others, kicks go from close to ribs to in my hips. Only 24+5wk atm so hoping she settles, though I can see her being another awkward one and having to go cesarean again. Our other 3 singletons were cephalic from 20wk and never moved from that position.

My baby was head down at 30+6 scan
Breech at 32+6 scan and breech at midwife appointment at 33+6 and at 34+2 I still feel a hard head like shape high up . I'm not a midwife but I don't think she's turned all though I suspect sometimes maybe she tries to and gets as far as transverse and goes back again
I feel really worried about something going wrong if I go into prem labour with a baby who isn't head down
This is my second and my first was always head down so I don't know what the monkey is doing

I’m currently 36+2 with a breech baby, head is up to the left under my ribs and feels hard and uncomfortable with nudging & wriggling type movements around that area. I seem to vary between dancing feet on my bladder and what I presume is a bum or elbows to the top right of my ribs, which can also feel hard and uncomfortable.

Baby was head down at 30 weeks but flipped somewhere between then & 33 weeks (I didn’t feel it) so I’m remaining hopeful that they will flip back down by themselves again before labour.

I’m booked for an ECV turn on Thursday but don’t think I want to go ahead with it so will probably end up coming out of that appointment booked for a planned c section, just trying to stay calm about everything & remember that main thing is baby gets here safe & sound!

jupitermars1345 · 02/05/2021 18:44

I also feel a lot of movement high up with my breech one who also flipped from head down to this position between 31-33 weeks
🙈🙈
Its very uncomfortable.
I also just want baby here safely whether section or not now and I don't want a ecv if she doesn't turn on her own .
I find the prospect really scary

MyBabyBoyBlue · 02/05/2021 18:53

I'm 33 weeks with breech baby and can feel the head up by my left ribs and very sharp elbows on the other side! They're getting quite painful too - also can feel kicks low down against my bladder. An all-round uncomfortable experience!

hotpatooties1 · 02/05/2021 18:56

@jupitermars1345 it is bloody uncomfortable! I feel like my baba tries to turn but isn't managing, they've been transverse today again I'm fairly certain.

Try not to worry about labour, my friend went into spontaneous labour with a breech baby, she said it wasn't too bad and just went straight to the hospital where they did the section.

My baby was breech until 36ish weeks. I had a big hard lump (her head, I assume) up near my ribs. Sometimes I could feel her pushing her head back and see it pushing out the side of my stomach which was unpleasant!
She flipped at 36ish weeks and I felt her spin, like a washing machine in my tummy

imaginethemdragons · 02/05/2021 19:03

Big hard lump up in my left rib, it would protrude out.
I thought it was a bum.
Could feel strange movement down below which was presumably feet moving.
Odd.
Eventually came clear at 10cms dilated and bucketloads of baby poo pouring out!!

Thisismyname77463 · 02/05/2021 19:03

Mine was high transverse. Taken out with forceps during the cesarian.
I didn’t feel much to be honest the odd kick but I don’t think there was much room to wiggle by that stage!!

hotpatooties1 · 02/05/2021 20:02

@imaginethemdragons I have a protruding lump high up, which I think is the head Hmm

Yes I get a hard lump sticking out high up

I thought it was a bottom until they said she was breech at my 33 week scan 🤣🙈
These babies 😁

Suzi888 · 02/05/2021 20:12

Hard lump high up on my tum, which was her head.... that I had been patting as I thought it was her butt.
