24 weeks shortening cervix?

I posted on the wrong thread the other day so apologies if you have seen this.
But, has anyone ever had an incompetent cervix? I’m 24 weeks and Had a scan the other day and it’s measuring 20mm, so I’ve been given progesterone pessaries and put on bed rest. How far did you carry? Did the progesterone work to slow it down?
My previous was born at 29 weeks (guessing it was also unknown incompetent cervix) so I’m getting very anxious.
What were your experiences please?
I have joined the incompetent cervix group on Facebook but haven’t been accepted yet x

Mine was down to about 24mm by 20 weeks, I was put on progesterone but no bed rest and my waters went at 34 weeks exactly, DD was born 3 days later and spent 2 weeks in SCBU. She's my first so I couldn't really say if the progesterone worked or not! Were you offered the cervical cerclage?

Hi I'm 31+3. I've been on progesterone since 16 weeks when my cervix was measured at 25mm. It was also 25mm at 20 weeks so was discharged from the clinic a so was told that this was a grey area in terms of length. My consultant wasn't very good and was happy to leave me with nothing which I was definitely not happy to do.

Thank you, she said there’s only a week to put the cerclage in, but didn’t recommend it as it could burst my waters? Can you remember the amount of progesterone you were prescribed? I’ve read online 400mg a day seems to be the usual amount but she only gave me 200mg a day x

Thank you! Do you think they are working at maintaining the length then? I’m surprised they’ve discharged you! They told me if there’s no change on Friday when she next scans me it’ll drop to every two weekly visits. I’m glad I’ve read these, a lot of posts I’ve read regarding progesterone said they didn’t work and went very early! X

I was on 400mg once a day. I think I was told to stop taking it at 28/30 weeks because there's no benefit at that point. I was offered the cerclage but declined, there is a risk of miscarriage although quite small if done at the right time but I couldn't bring myself to actively do something that might have led to me losing the baby so took the progesterone and watch and wait path.

I was very surprised that they discharged me as well but she basically said the cerclage could only be put in until 23 weeks so there was little to no point in measuring me as it wouldn't change the management. I'm on 200mg twice a day and been told to stop at 36 weeks. Hopefully things stay stable for you🤞🏻

I was discharged in terms of cervical length scans after 22 weeks also, I think once you're at or nearly at the 24 week viability stage they focus more on what to do if baby comes out rather than trying to keep them in. I had steroid injections at 23 weeks as a precaution in case baby came then but I don't think this is standard.
