Weight gain?

Hello! I'm 23 weeks today, I started my pregnancy at 12st 12lb, weighed myself today and I'm 12st 13lb. I've got a noticeable bump now where I don't just look chubby and bloated. I'm quite tall at about 5 ft 8. I've been for a scan today and baby is growing fine. I suppose I'm just a bit worried, I don't want to pile unnecessary weight on obviously but just worried I aren't putting enough on for the baby if that makes sense? I was expecting to put weight on nearly every week now. Can I ask for your experiences? When you started to put weight on? Did your weight go up all at once? How much did you put on over all?

I really wouldn't mind putting the weight on! If anything I'm worrying myself more that I aren't gaining anything. Sorry if I sound really silly, it's my first pregnancy!

This is my first pregnancy so I’m no expert on what weight is normal or not. But in my first trimester I was really ill with morning sickness and lost about 8lb which took me to a lower weight than I would be naturally.
If I work it out properly from what my weight was before the loss, I’ve gained a stone up to now and I’m almost 31 weeks pregnant. No idea if that is normal or not.

If you’re eating regular meals and baby is growing fine I wouldn’t be too worried, everyone is different. You could always mention it to your MW?

Everyone carries differently, long as baby is all good your doing everything fine!
Your MW will be weighing you so if anything wasn’t quite right she’d tell you.
I put most my weight on in the last 8 weeks

I started at a similar height and weight to you in my first 2 pregnancies and didn’t put on much at all. By the time I had both children I was about 9 pounds lighter than I started and I put that down to not wanting to eat as much and no alcohol calories. As I started off at the heavier end (classed as overweight in terms of bmi) I wasn’t worried and neither was my midwife and both children born at a reasonable weight. My understanding is that your body will always give the baby what it needs, just try and eat as healthily as you can.
