12 week scan-questions

I have my 12 week scan on the 14th may. I should be 12 weeks exactly that day!
So far never had a pregnancy since past 6/7 weeks so I'm SO NERVOUS!!

What does a 12 week scan actually look like?
Is there anything I should ask?
Any tips or anything?

Hello I have my 12 week scan on that date to. But I should be around 12 weeks and 4 days. And anything you'll need to know they will tell you. Just relax and take it easy. How you feeling ? My little boy is 11 so this pregnancy feels very different. As I have suffered with really bad nausea this time round . Which luckily has passed now 🤣 x

Have a look at 12 week scan images online, there's loads. You just need to have a full bladder, it usually says that in the letter.

@l16bxt it's so exciting I can't wait to see my little one! I am feeling ROUGH the sickness is horrendous 😩 I'm hoping it eases up soon x

To be honest they'll tell you all you need to know - just ask them to explain anything you aren't sure of? Usually last about 20 mins or so - they'll do lots of measurements including fluid at back of babies neck and do a blood test if you are doing the combined test - you might get a new due date as they will recalculate it based on the size the baby measures at the scan

@SweetSunflowerBoo I had an early reassurance scan at 6 weeks as I had a previous miscarriage. So just needed that piece of mind. I feel like everything's going

@l16bxt I had 2 early scans with this pregnancy too and both times I saw the heartbeat but it's been a good few weeks since then so that's why I'm a bit worried. Good luck! X

Hi ladies @SweetSunflowerBoo @l16bxt hope you don’t mind me joining. I have my 12 week scan next Friday (7th) should be 12+4 then. Previous mc, and I had a scan at 8+6 due to bleeding and there was a heartbeat and no concerns.

I’m so afraid that I’ll get there and it will be bad news. My sockneds was really bad and has eased slightly so nothing to suggest anything’s wrong. But would be lovely to speak to ladies going through the same thing. Xxxx

Got mine on the 13th! Very anxious, not had any early scans yet, feel like its been 84 years already. I had a load of questions written down for my first pregnancy and they were a bit dismissive...but I think this time I mainly just want to know that everything looks ok to them so far and the location of the placenta (hoping its nice and out of the way again so I can start looking out for those early baby wiggles!). Fingers crossed for us!

Hope you dont mind if i join! I have my first scan on Friday and I'm so nervous.
I have had quite strong symptoms etc but i worried that due to my age 35 and this being my first pregnancy im so scared

Decide before you go in if you want to know the sex and if you don't, tell them so straight away! We didn't find out for either of ours and I can recommend saving the delight of knowing for the day of the birth.

Congratulations! Im trying to be excited but i see so many horror story's about scans its been driving me insane! Im on a google ban now until after my scan x

Everything seems to be well so I have a midwife on the 8th June for my 16 week checkup.

It went great-!! It was unbelievable when I got to see my little one move and look like a baby rather than a bean 😂

My midwife is terrible! She ignores me for WEEKS until I have to threaten to make a formal complaint and then she suddenly talks to me. No other midwife for me to change to

I'm hoping to book at 4d and gender scan for around 16/17 weeks xx

glad you seen your baby... isn't it the most amazing thing ever 🥰 I know it's like going from a bean to a little human..
I'm gonna book a gender reveal as well... I'm convinced I'm having a boy I'm mad on those theory hubs haha xx

I'm trying to read about the nub theory to guess the baby's gender but I don't understand it tbh 😂
