IVF Pregnancy, measuring a week behind at early scan?

Hi everyone,

This is my first post so I apologise if I haven't posted it under the right category, I'm just after some advice and I'm quite confused and worried.

I am currently 6 weeks 3 days pregnant (certain of dates as it's an ivf pregnancy). This is my first pregnancy and first round of ivf after TTC for 4 years so feeling quite anxious.

At the beginning of the week I had some quite painful period type pains that lasted 1.5 - 2 days. I had no bleeding however I am on progesterone pessaries which I believe aim to prevent bleeding. The pains went away after 2 days and I feel back to normal now other than the odd niggle that doesn't really bother me. My ivf clinic scan isn't until 8 weeks so I decided to book a private early scan for a bit of reassurance.

I've been to the private early scan today and the lady said that everything was still very tiny so it was hard to confirm viability however she believe she could see a very tiny yolk sac and very very tiny baby but could not be sure. No heartbeat could be seen but I guess it's maybe too early for that. The thing that did worry me is that she said I was measuring 5 weeks despite being 6 weeks 3 days. She has put down the fetal pole measurement as 0.9mm which really doesn't seem right unless I am missing something. And my Sac measurement as 3.4mm.

I know there's probably not a lot of advice anybody could give me, was just hoping somebody might be able to share a similar experience and hopefully went on to have a successful pregnancy!

Hi!

Fellow IVF’r!

I was measuring behind on my first scan and baby soon caught up to correct dates/weeks.
They got me in for weekly scans, when my nhs scan came I was measuring right on track again.

Hey @sunny1112 that is soooo reassuring thank you! When was your first scan and how far behind were you measuring if you don't mind me asking? As if IVF wasn't hard enough, it certainly doesn't get any less stressful after your BFP!

Nope it really doesn’t!

I was about 5 days behind at first scan of 7 weeks.

Thanks @sunny1112 that definitely makes me feel a bit more positive!
