Reduced movements

Hi all! I'm 27+6 and I've noticed my baby hasn't moved at all today, and usually he moves an awful awful lot and has done since I was around 20 weeks! My placenta is at the top this pregnancy so I feel him lots usually!! - I'm not too worried as I know they have their lazy days sometimes, and this is baby number 2 so I'm a little more knowledgable
Just wondering though if I don't have any movements soon and feel the need to call the triage. Will they see me? I've heard they don't until 28 weeks and I'm literally a day away hahah. Perhaps I'm wrong - Probably a silly question but just curious!
Thanks all!

Ring straight away. I've had reduced movements in both pregnancies and been seen from 24 weeks. They should see you whenever but use Doppler to check before 28 weeks and Dawes redman machine after 28 weeks.

Hiya, congratulations!

I went to triage many times when I was pregnant with my son as I had days with reduced movements too. They should see you from 20 weeks onwards?

I would definitely give them a call, just to get checked and put your mind at ease.

@Libt at our hospital trust they’ll see you from 24 weeks and put you on a CTG from 26 weeks, definitely go in

Have you tried all the usual tricks to make them move? Something sugary to drink/cold drink, a bath etc. If you have and don't have any luck then give triage a ring.

ElderMillennial · 01/05/2021 14:14

Yes they will see you.

Everything will probably be fine but don't assume it is just because it was before. If you notice a change or reduction in movements, especially if it has been all day, then you need to get checked.

Thanks all for your responses! I have had a sugary cold drink, some lunch and still don't think I've felt anything (nothing as noticeable as usual anyways! As they've been very strong lately!) so I will give a call just to be safe! Thanks all!!
