At my MILs house and am 19 weeks pregnant. Snacking on dried mango.. she told me I better wash it first?! Is this true?? Do you need to wash dried fruits as well in pregnancy? I assumed it was raw only.. Blush

You sure she wasn’t joking...?!

This is what the NHS says:
Fruits, vegetables and salads

Be careful with fruits, vegetables and salads as they can have soil on them, which can make you unwell.

Make sure to thoroughly wash all fruits, vegetables and salad ingredients.

So, unless it was the strangest dried fruit in existence then no, no washing required!

I've never heard that one before 🤔

Not unless you want to rehydrate it

I don't get how this clarifies anything

But no OP I don't think you need to wash dried fruit

If the packaging says "ready to eat" it is fine.
If you buy it loose then there can be higher risks of contamination.

Thanks everyone! Did think she was a bit bonkers.
@Chelyanne yep was all packaged - one of those urban fruit packets!
