Hi everyone, I am just so so confused and I’m not getting any answers anywhere so was wondering if anyone here has experienced anything similar. I had a positive strip pregnancy test on 29/03 but later that day done a clear blue digital which was negative. I called GP next day and they sent me for blood tests when I called for the results the receptionist said it was labelled wrong and I had to go for another blood test, after I hung up I realised I needed to call back to get number for to schedule blood test again and a different receptionist told me they all came back normal so I was just like ??? Spoke with GP she told me she didn’t think I was pregnant and done a cervix examination and scheduled me for a smear, told me to do a test in a week just to be sure but she didn’t think I was pregnant. So I waited a week and got 3 more positive tests so I called her back she got me in to do a test in the doctors and it came back negative and told me it was strange that my tests were the only ones that were positive and when they have tested through bloods and actual pregnancy test they’ve been negative and basically said there’s nothing more they can do. I just feel like they don’t believe me if I wasn’t with my sister when getting positive results or have photos of them this experience would have made me question what I saw on the tests myself. I’ve done another test myself since and it’s negative I just don’t understand why one day it’s positive, then negative, then positive then negative and the doctor either doesn’t believe me or doesn’t think it’s something to worry about. I just don’t know what to do Sad

Hi op
Did you manage to sort it out?

ActonBell · 30/04/2021 20:34

What kind of tests are you doing?
What time of day are you taking the tests?
When was the first day of your last period?
When did you last have unprotected sex?

The GP won’t just leave you to it if you keep testing positive. That will have to be investigated.

Some medications can interfere with test results and different pregnancy tests have different levels of sensitivity. If you’ve been categorically told your blood test was negative it’s unlikely you’re pregnant but the positive tests still need investigation.

@jade0881 hi no still not sorted I don’t know what to do I feel like I can’t go to GP about it again

Did you take your positive test with you to the appointment?
If you can get hold of a first response early result take that using your first wee of the day. You can post a photo here if you want help interpreting the result.
Then if it’s positive take a picture of it or the test itself and take it to the doctor with you.

The first bit of what happened to you sounds normal - clear blue digital are much less sensitive than pink dye dip tests, so I would t be surprised if the clear blue was negative. What’s happened since then must be very confusing for you but if you keep getting positive tests at home they can’t ignore that.

@ActonBell I rarely get periods due to being on the mini pill, I had missed one early March that’s the main reason I took a test along with cramping but no bleeding and sore boobs etc. I told them I had the tests but they said they can’t read the results after 5 mins, I have photos of them within the time frame how do you post them on here?

@Courtney996 - you should see a little paper clip where you post a response. Click on that and you can attach a photo.
If your account is new I think you have to wait 24hrs to be able to post pics (as a method to stop spammers).

If you had a true positive on 29/03 you would definitely have a positive now over 4 weeks later. Especially if you took a clearblue digital at the moment. If the blood test came back negative then doing it again now would make it very clear what your HCG level is.

Did you test today @Courtney996?
