Hi all. I'm 25 weeks currently and I'm hardly showing, I'm a plus size anyway. I'm a ftm2b and I'm wondering will I ever look pregnant and not that I've overdone the roasties hahaha

I think everyone’s different. I’m a first time plus-sized mum and suddenly this week I’ve looked huge (I’m 14+5), so much so that I feel a fraud!

I’m on a Facebook group for people who are all due in the same month and they post bump pictures on Wednesday’s and there really is such variance. Some people look heavily pregnant and some you’d never know.

I'm 24+1wk with baby number 6 (5th pregnancy to get past 1st trimester.
I'm 5ft 8in and BMI was 32 at booking, I have a history of big babies so do get pretty big.

BMI 37 at booking, didn't have a rounded bump esque shape until 25-28 weeks, probably due to BMI, being almost 6 ft and a long torso. I'm 38+4 now and now very very round and like a backwards turtle. It'll get there, might just take a while Wink

Hi @FirstTimeScared I agree with pp that everyone is different, I think there’s such a variance in bumps across different Mums!

I would typically be size 18/20 pre-pregnancy & it took quite a while for me to look like I had an actual bump rather than just too many lockdown beers! I’ve attached pictures of me at 25 wks & 35 wks but I would say my bump really started to pop out around the 28-30 wk stage

lilroo87 · 29/04/2021 09:08

I'm 26+5 first pregnancy and pre-pregnancy would be either a size 12/14/16 depending where I bought clothes from.
My bump started showing at 14 weeks and is just getting bigger but I put it down to being short (just under 5ft2) and everything shifting to make way for baby earlier.
This was my bump at just gone 26 weeks.
I've seen so many women of all different sizes with different size bumps at different stages so I think it really just depends on each pregnancy.

I’m now 34w but still have a ‘neat’ bump (so everyone keeps saying). You couldn’t tell I was pregnant until 6 months and even then I wouldn’t say I had anything resembling a proper bump until 7 months. I’ve been super paranoid the whole time about my little bump but now she’s bigger it’s really uncomfortable and I am longing for the no-bump days, so I’d highly recommend not worrying about it and enjoying small bump whilst you can!

Funny story. Was a hospital based healthcare professional. At 36 weeks I had a colleague who’d come down for a specialty consult deem it necessary to tell me he had a friend (surgeon) that had just started up a private weight loss surgery practice and he’d be happy to pass across the details and ensure I got ‘mates rates’. To be fair I did just look obese as opposed to pregnant and did a very good imitation of the Michelin man (caricature made up of different size tires). I just said ‘no thanks’ as couldn’t be arsed explaining I was actually pregnant but i heard someone else told him, and also told him he was a complete dick.

Omg you all look great. Op everyone is different.
Although I'm not certain how far I am but from what I think I'm around 9 weeks and this is how I look. 3rd pregnancy

lockdownbabyx · 29/04/2021 11:06

FTM here and I too am worried about this! I'm a size 14/16 and 5"4 but carry most of my weight on my stomach. I'm almost 14 weeks and can feel a hard lump above my pubic bone when I lay down but that's it. Im really hoping I get a distinctive bump though, even if it's later on. I also worry I won't feel much movement because of the layers of fat, but that may just be me being silly 😂

FirstTimeScared · 29/04/2021 15:12

Thanks for all the replies 😀

I definitely feel her moving and kicking away, been alot more this last few days. I just want to experience the pregnancy bump and not just look like I've had one to many cakes. I also carried most my weight around my tummy, so guessing she's just filling that space up first 🤷‍♀️ 25 weeks so fingers crossed plenty time left for her to pop xxx

Do you mind me asking when you first felt movement? Xx

FirstTimeScared · 29/04/2021 18:19

Just after my 20 week scan I started feeling her moving. She's very active now 🥰

I’m 27 weeks with higher BMI and I have a bump but unfortunately by belly fat has moved upstairs so it just looks like a beer belly with two levels 🤣 x

ER20 · 29/04/2021 22:47

I’m a size 20 (pre pregnancy) and have a definite bump, here’s progress. Smile
