Soupy, dd is The Pea despite having a perfectly nice first name with NO connection to this vegetable

Marina · 13/11/2007 20:27

Patti Smith, good.
Patty Hearst, debatable.
Patsy Cline...what more could you want?

Botbot · 13/11/2007 20:28

Patsy makes me think of Patsy Palmer. That's not good.

tyaca · 13/11/2007 20:33

belgo, variety may just be the best suggestion ever! virtues 2007-style...

Patience is a beautiful name. Why do you want to shorten it?

Ilovenutella · 13/11/2007 20:55

I can't imagine Patience being shortened? I think it is a gorgeous name (my DD is a Verity so I guess I like those kind of names......) and I don't want Verity shortened at all (although my sister thinks she will be called Very or just V!)

Botbot · 14/11/2007 08:37

I work with a Verity and we call her Vezza. Sorry.

Lovely name though.

Ilovenutella · 14/11/2007 15:59

Vezza makes me smile ..... wonder if my daughter will grow up to be Vezza the Lezza?

Bundle · 14/11/2007 16:07

I wouldn't shorten it tbh but think Sasha is a nice name (have a friend whose name is Alexandra but everyone calls her Sasha)

Bumblelion · 14/11/2007 16:25

My youngest DD is Sasha (full name, not shortened) and the names suits her to a 'tee'.
