I’ve posted before... I’m getting anxious now. I’m going to be 19 weeks at the end of this week and still can’t feel a thing. I guess I’m more worried because my previous two were identifiably active at this point. I’m not even picking up flutters in this pregnancy!

I had a private scan at 16 weeks where the lady wrote anterior placenta in my notes, the handwriting is bad but I think that’s what it said.

Hi its my 3rd baby as well and I didn't feel anything at all not even a bubble until 21 weeks and nothing like actual kicks until 25 weeks!! I've anterior placenta as well. I was freaking out as I knew people say on subsequent pregnancies you feel them earlier but I genuinely felt nothing and not for lack of trying I was poking and prodding my stomach for weeks trying to feel something! Hopefully u will soon x

It’ll be because of your anterior placenta!
I had it and whilst it was my first I didn’t feel frequent movement until 23/24 weeks!

Try not to worry, I had an anterior placenta with my second and didn't feel anything for ages. When I went for my 20 week scan the sonographer told me the baby was kicking away but I couldn't feel anything! I ended up going into get checked a few times in the final few weeks as there were days when I felt nothing, it was so worrying! I'm now pregnant with my third and praying I don't get another anterior placenta because it was such a different experience to my first where I could feel every movement!

MrsMDD · 27/04/2021 23:21

Honestly I was so freaked out that something was wrong but had my 20 week scan at 21+1 and could see the baby kicking away just couldn't feel a thing. Then a few days later I finally felt her! So stunned especially being my 3rd. Try not to worry.. Easier said then done x

Mine have varied massively.

Dd1 and 2 were early.
Dd3 anterior placenta was gone 19wks.
DS1 was early 13wks ish
Dd4 (currently 33wks) I didn't feel her until well gone 20wks, even with a posterior placenta. She is all over the place now. I don't know why I didn't feel her sooner, maybe just busy.

I have an anterior placenta and I mentioned it at my 20 week scan I still hadn't felt baby and the sonographer assured me that this was normal with an anterior placenta and not to worry, as did my MW. I don't think I felt her properly until 23/24 weeks it was much much later than my first!

Lou98 · 28/04/2021 00:21

As others have said, with an anterior placenta it's normal to not feel movements as strong or until later on so please try not to worry.

Out of curiosity, did you have a CS with previous baby? Not got any personal experience but was having a conversation about movements with a friend and she said due to c-section scarring (they assumed) she couldn't feel the next baby as early or as strong. I've read a few things about that on here too so could be a possibility? (As I said though I don't have personal experience with that, I'm only pregnant with my first)
