Pregnant after MC

Hi

I had a miscarriage earlier this year and have found out that I am now pregnant again. I took a cheap boots strip test yesterday which had a faint line. I then retested later in the day with a FRER and that also showed a faint line.

My plan was to retest on Wednesday and then Friday. However, I went to bed last night with really sore boobs and woke up this morning and the soreness has eased a lot. I immediately panicked and did another cheap boots test (the only test I have left) and the line is much darker than yesterday. I'm panicking as when i had my MC my boobs stopped hurting that same day.

Does anyone know if this is a good sign that the line was darker regardless of my boobs feeing better? And has anyone experienced fluctuating symptoms this early on?

Hi OP, I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and I can really relate to your post. Similar to you I had a miscarriage and when I got a faint line this time, I was so worried! You are bound to be.
Last time all my symptoms stopped at once and I started bleeding.
This pregnancy, I also had sore boobs that stopped hurting. I found I got my normal pms boobs that I'd have and then when I got my BFP it stopped. I was so worried, the same as you. Then I had no symptoms until about 6-7 weeks when the sore boobs, nausea etc kicked in. I will say though, even this is up and down. So don't be disheartened if one day you feel ok. Symptoms really do come and go.
How far along are you, do you know?
Try and relax if you can, I know it's easier said than done, especially having been through a loss. X

Hi! Breast tenderness really isn't anything to go by, unfortunately no symptoms are. Try not to worry about it if you can. All you need to look out for is bleeding - the biggest symptom of being pregnant is a positive test + no period. Symptoms like breast tenderness, nausea, etc will come and go and some people never have them.

A test darkening is a good sign (although leaving two days between tests will make it clearer) but something to be aware of is that pregnancy tests (non-blood) are not quantitative - so they don't tell you 'how pregnant you are' or rather, how much hCG you have, and whether it's really increasing. They are either positive or negative, regardless of the strength of the line. The strength of the line can change based on how hydrated you are or the time of day, and still not mean anything bad. The only 'bad sign' is if multiple tests show negative, and you begin to bleed.

I know what it's like to be pregnant after an MC (had an MMC in late Nov - I'm now 16 weeks again) and it is just so anxiety riddled! My heart goes out to you. Congratulations and good luck!

Thanks guys. It's reassuring to know that symptoms can come and go. I think I'm only about 4.5 weeks. I think I need to stop comparing it to last time. Last time my boobs really hurt non stop until 6.5 weeks and they started easing on the day before the MC started.

I guess I'll just try and stay positive and take each day as it comes. Hopefully I won't start bleeding 🤞I'll retest in a couple of days and see how it goes
