Hi all!

I’m just over 10 weeks pregnant and I have been feeling truly miserable.
I’ve had hemorrhagic cysts on my ovaries and a heamatoma which thankfully has just about settled now but since 6 weeks I feel like I’ve had a constant hangover and it’s relentless.. I struggle to sleep anyway because of working night shifts but even without them I’m exhausted. All I want to eat is fried, greasy fatty foods which is a far cry from what I ate pre-conception.

When will it end?! I’m so thankful to be pregnant and I’m trying not to complain but I’m struggling just to get by.. every day feels like it’s never ending x

I felt more myself when I hit the 12 week mark.
First trimester takes it out of you as a lot going on.
Hopefully you get your energy back soon!

Aww sorry you’re feeling so rotten, first trimester can be tough going. Usually the second trimester is easier or it was for me in my two pregnancies. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

YukoandHiro · 26/04/2021 21:20

It was 16 weeks for me with both pregnancies. It gets betters hang in there

TheProvincialLady · 26/04/2021 21:20

Pregnancy 1 - 12-14 weeks
Pregnancy 3 - every day for 9 months. I ate nothing but weetabix, samosas and wine gums (?) However, I felt better the minutes he was out and normal eating resumed. Just do what you need to do to get through it.

Workinghardeveryday · 26/04/2021 21:21

I was the same, felt hungover until about 13 weeks then felt a lot better, totally okay by 16 weeks.

ZoeMaye · 26/04/2021 21:21

Are you dehydrated? When I feel hungover when I'm not it's usually dehydration. You need more liquids in pregnancy and if you have upped your salt intake. Salt cravings can also be a sign you are dehydrated, weirdly, because when we are dehydrated our mineral salts are out of whack. Try an isotonic drink and see if that helps.

It's horrid and I hated every minute of my pregnancy between 5 and 13 weeks. The sickness, nausea, tiredness and generally feeling awful starting easing at 13 weeks and was mostly gone by 15 weeks. I'm 18w2d now and loving it all of a sudden, quickly forgetting how grim it was!

I ate whatever I could and focused on ensuring I was hydrated and had my vitamins. It's a case of survival until it passed, whenever that happens to be for you. I feel your pain, I really do!

MrsB2019x · 26/04/2021 23:08

I felt exactly the same in first trimester! If you want beige hangover food, have it. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do to get through. I pretty much survived off potato waffles for the first 14 weeks or so. I felt much better at 16 weeks, hope it passes quicker for you!

Peony2021 · 27/04/2021 09:00

It's so hard at times!! I'm 15 weeks and still being and feeling sick, even whilst on anti sickness medication. Am praying that 16 weeks is my golden ticket to feeling better 😂

Amz6219 · 27/04/2021 09:55

Exactly how I felt! Now 15 weeks and been back to normal for about 2 weeks.

Hang in there, it should get better x

Amz6219 · 27/04/2021 09:56

Oh and all I could eat was McDonald’s, subway, crisps and toast! X

TheGlitterFairy · 27/04/2021 11:10

This is how I felt for a period of time in the first trimester too. Crackers and cheese helped along with lots of fluids. Hang on in there.

Cathie102 · 27/04/2021 11:28

Aww my heart goes out to you! It's rotten - made me think why I ever drunk and voluntarily felt like that. You're over 10 weeks now so hopefully you've had more rubbish weeks behind you than ahead of you. I'm 19 weeks now and feel fine. Just keep hoping that's how it will go for you.
And you know what, if all you can eat is greasy food then do it! Good luck!

AegonT · 27/04/2021 11:52

In both pregnancies my horrible first trimester symptoms improved from 8/9 weeks and were much better at 12 weeks and I felt normal again at 15/16 weeks. So it could get better very soon for you!
