Intercourse after ivf

Hi,

Anyone who has had ivf done, have you been told how long to refrain from intercourse for?

Can it affect the pregnancy at all?

Do you mean after embryo transfer? We were told we could carry on as normal and have Dec if we wanted.

We were told no sex in the 2ww - I got pregnant with twins and was high risk to abstained the full 9 months

No sex in 2ww after embryo transfer, after that, ok. That said I’ve now got a low lying placenta discovered at the 20 wk scan so no sex advised again now for the duration.

@Ginger1982 I meant after the 2 weeks of embryo transfer after you know the pregnancy test results

Hi, just wondering if anyone has had their 20 week scan and found out the gender? Do they usually get it right. We were shown his bit and told its definitely a boy. Anyone experienced anything similar or anything?
