This post might get a bit long, so apologies in advance.
I had my LMP on 05/02, first tested positive on 02/03 and had a private scan done 06/04. At the private scan I thought I was around 8 1/2 weeks going by LMP but they couldn't find a heartbeat and sonographer said the pregnancy was only about 5 weeks along by what she could see. We were told to come back two weeks later for a rescan.
Last week Friday 16/04 I started spotting, just the occasional light pink and sometimes brown jelly/slimey/mucus-like discharge when wiping. Then wiped bright red once on the following Tuesday before it went back to clean wipes the rest of the day. On 21/04 we went for the rescan and same sonographer could only see minimal growth and still no heartbeat, she said it looked to be only about 5 1/2 weeks now. She said it was a missed miscarriage and referred me on to the EPU the following morning. She phoned me back and said I've an appointment for next Tuesday 27/04 when I should be about 11 1/2 weeks. I'm still spotting brown on and off and had one more red wipe today. But none of it has filled a pad or even stained my underwear, there's not been a single clot as far as I could tell and cramps have either been absent or very minimal.
I know I just need to wait and see what they see and say at the EPU next week but has anyone gone through the same where the missed miscarriage has taken so long to process naturally or where somehow the baby was just slow to develop and eventually still caught up? As the sonographer said the baby stopped growing around 5 weeks, meaning it's now been just over 6 weeks already and my body still hasn't caught on or processed it naturally. I know chances are very slim to none that everything will work out still but I can't help but hold on to the tiniest bit of hope. This is my second pregnancy and would be my second miscarriage after having a chemical last August.
